Well, I finally found a great bunch of folks in the Worcester area who gave me a shot at a tattoo apprenticeship. It's something I've wanted to do for about twenty years! Well, better late than never! I'm learning from Shad Quill, a great artist at Mass Tattoos which is recently under new ownership. The folks there are some of the nicest most down to earth people I know. They've been nothing but helpful and encouraging and I can't thank them enough for helping out an "old-timer" like myself. I've also been around the Boston blues scene since the early 90's. Since then I have had the opportunity to play and record with some of the finest local and national acts including Jerry Portnoy (Muddy Waters/ Eric Clapton), Duke Robillard (Roomful of Blues/ Tom Waits), Kim Wilson (The Fabulous Thunderbirds), Two Bones and a Pick, Paul Size (Red Devils), Troy Gonyea (The Howl/ The Fabulous Thunderbirds), Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish, Ricky "King" Russell, Nick Adams, The Racky Thomas Band, The Matthew Stubbs Band, Matt Woodburn and Cheryl Arena and many, many others. Recently, I retired my harmonicas and began studying country blues with Paul Rishell. I was also fortunate enough to strike up a friendship with Jake La Botz who hails from L.A.. Jake is an amazing country blues player and indie artist/ actor. I have also had the pleasure of working on the independent film "Rockets Redglare" by the late Luis Fernandez de la Reguera. This film went to Sundance in 2003 and featured Steve Buscemi, Willem Dafoe, and Matt Dillon. My footage of the post-screening Q&A with Luis and Steve Buscemi is featured on the DVD release.
