About Me

Due to some unforseen circumstances my personal website is down. I am in the process of creating another one. I've created this page for all of those who haven't had the chance to see my site. I was born in Grenada , in the Caribbean. I came to New York as a child and returned home to attend high school. I then came back to New York and stumbled into modeling. At first I fell prey to a lot of scam artists, but after reading up on what was needed to actually break into the industry, I haven't looked back since. I am signed to one commercial agency and freelance with two others.
I am transitioning into acting and so far I've had some success. My long term goal, beside my own personal success, is to go back to Grenada and establish an arts program in the schools there. So many children who possess talent in the arts are not nurtured and supported. I would like to change that and inspire the next generation of artisans.
My personal advice for many of you who are thinking about entering this field, please make sure you have an understanding of what it takes to make it in this industry. You can book work one month and not work for another six months. If you are low in self esteem, this is not the industry for you. If you cannot take rejection, this is not the industry for you. If you cannot deal with unsteady paychecks, this is not the industry for you.
If you've finally decided to make the leap into the industry be mindful, it may seem glamorous but it is still a business. And your business is to keep your hair, skin, teeth and body on point. Commit to taking care of yourself physically. Mentally as well. Find a good group of people who will understand and support your goals. Look for an agency through the yellow pages or on the internet. Be aware, do not give your money away to any agency that wants you to pay them for pictures or "extraneous fees". If they like you, then they would recommend you to photographers. You can do your own search for Photographers as well. It's a myth that an agency will front all your costs. You will have to support yourself financially in the beginning to pay for photo updates, portfolios, compcards, gym memberships, etc.
This is an exciting industry that can open many doors for you but you must take it seriously as well as approach it carefully. Research and read up on what it takes to break into it and to make it. Most of us can book work but it's booking work consistently that matters most. Just because you've booked a billboard one week will not ensure you booking another one a year from now. Keep your head on straight and enjoy the ride. Myspace Layouts
