ramsazizz is the sound of immigrants. city beats cement. traditions memories across
the mediterranean. metropolitan aesthetics, acoustic digital dance celebration.
spain, italy, france, balkans, north africa ... even asia. culturclash. ramsazizz
is the result of an encounter between traditional music performers, djs, and
electronic musicians. it's the sound of a city inhabited by people from many
different countries with different languages, customs, religions and music. this
album's songs try to paint the confusion... but in the end, it all seems to make sense.
it all gels. you can hear a song sung in french over a traditional gypsy arrangement.
roy paci ( known for his collaborations with manu chao as well as a long list of known
artists) sings in four languages on a raggabhangra beat and plays trumpet on a couple
of tracks. the koçani orkestar lend their fanfare horn parts on a couple songs
including an electrofunk floorfiller. the ramsazizz album aims to reconcile where
thousand-year-old traditions and religions have only succeeded in separating.
this is metropolitan mediterranean ethnica. this is the sound of a bastardized
millenium
