About Me

On the performance circuit for almost three years, this St. Louis–based singer-songwriter has released Throwing Rocks at Your Ghost and the acclaimed Live at Lucas School House. He’s played with well-respected acts like Cameron McGill, Owen, The Autumn Defense, and Clem Snide’s Eef Barzelay. Geoff won the People’s Choice Award for 2005-2006 Best Singer-Songwriter in the St. Louis Music Awards. He’s also garnered honors, awards and kudos from The Recording Academy, International Songwriting Competition and Billboard magazine’s Worldwide Songwriting Competition. He kept himself busy in 2006 by booking and playing a 44-shows-in-47-days national tour. Still, Geoff’s not some overeager teenager with a guitar and an eye for the ladies; for him, music’s cathartic and healing while also being soulful and uplifting. "Music has always been who I am, always been inside me. Denying it and trying to live a 'normal' life wasn't for me." Those of us who can’t stop listening to his CDs or attending the live shows—events, all of ’em, despite the fact that Geoff’s just one guy with a guitar and harmonica—are thankful he acquiesced. Watching him perform songs with lines such as, “it's not that I don't like peace, but violence is a friend of mine" ("Pro-War"), audiences across the country agree they're witnessing a part of the next generation of great American songwriters. What does 2007 have in store for him? “Demos and a full band full length cd as the year goes on. I'll play festivals and tours as I finish new songs. I also look forward to playing with a string quartet and full band.” This workaholic will soon add “author” to his list of credentials. When he’s not recruiting a band, writing new material or playing the incendiary shows he’s become known for, you can find this singer-songwriter writing a book about his seven-week tour in 2006 that took him across the country. Folks, catch this endearing “singer-songwriter on the rise” when he plays your town, and you’ll be able to say you “saw him when…"
