Tears of Grace are an unsigned four piece metal/punk band. They formed in the winter of 2004; Rae, Gary, Ben and Colin met through school and their love of music and goofing around created the band. After practicing covers for about a month the band started to write their own material. Taking influences from Goth Rock and Nu-Metal the band have come up with a very distinct sound.
Their first gig was on the 28th January 2005, they supported The Madisuns on their Aberdeen leg of their tour through Foyer Music. They then recorded their demo at the Foyer studio in late February. They received positive feedback with these recordings, and during the next few months they played many gigs. They supported many UK touring bands such as Howards Alias and Along Came Man during this period and also headlined many gigs at Café Drummonds in Aberdeen.
Nearing the end of the summer the band went back into the studio to record their EP; Gone Forever, this was recorded at the Captain Toms studio in Aberdeen. It consisted of four songs that the band considered their best work at the time. The EP was a success at the launch on the 11th September 2005 and they sold many copies.
So far in 2006 the band have played many dates. They have even played an alternative acoustic set supporting artists such as Frank Turner. Recently a gig at Café Drummonds in Aberdeen was a huge success as a part of Bens own promotion company, the event was sold out with over 300 people attending. Tears of Grace have now established themselves in Aberdeen and have a fan base that is continously growing.
The band recorded another CD in Mid-June and realese date is soon. During August a new member of Tears of Grace joined. It was fan turned member when Matthew Yeoman joined. Since then the band have played many more gig to packed out venues and later this year are playing their biggest venue yet.
