About Me

For eight years, Tomiko Fraser has held a prestigious role as the face of Maybelline New York. Being the first African-American woman to achieve such a feat, she is no stranger to breaking barriers and creating her own pathway to career success.Shortly after being discovered while working in a New York restaurant, Tomiko began her optimistic pursuit of a modeling and acting career—which has led her to features in numerous prestigious print and television campaigns including: Tommy Hilfiger, Alfani, The Gap, Old Navy, Lee Jeans & Target. She has also been featured in magazines around the world, including German Vogue, Glamour, British Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Essence, and Elle.A charismatically fresh talent, Tomiko Fraser has just begun to turn many heads in Hollywood through her work as an actor. After making her feature film debut opposite Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Monica Potter in the romantic comedy Head Over Heels, she went on to take part in the New Line Cinema film, Monster-in-Law, starring Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda. In addition to the big screen, Tomiko’s television credits include guest starring roles on the Showtime series Soul Food, CSI Miami and "The Game" on the CW network. Her most personal endeavor is her work as a national spokesperson and Board member for the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA). Her sister, Shneequa, was diagnosed several years ago with a severe case of Lupus. Tomiko actively speaks out on behalf of the LFA and has traveled to Capitol Hill to testify on behalf of legislation that would provide more research and funding for those in need. Due in part to her efforts, that bill was passed. She has also taped a public service announcement for the LFA to educate the public about Lupus.Tomiko is also the founder and creator of a female empowerment group called "Tomiko Fraser's Goddess Gathering". This group meets once a month and is a place of support and encouragement for women from all walks of life. Please visit the site at www.tomikosgoddessgathering.com. Also, see the Goddess Gathering Album on this page.In her spare time, she enjoys singing, reading, dancing and writing. She recently wrote the foreword for a book called “Hair Rules!” by A. Dickey. Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, she currently resides in Los Angeles.Home | Browse | Search | Invite | Film | Mail | Blog | Favorites | Forum | Groups | Events | Videos | Music | Comedy | ClassifiedsTomiko's Hosting Reel
