Prince, Duke Ellington, Eric Benet, Mingus, Benny Goodman, Rahsaan Patterson, Leonard Bernstein, Bilal, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, Curtis Mayfield, George Clinton, Joi, Anthony Hamilton, Jay-Z, Black Eyed Peas, Mint Condition, Amel Larrieux, Phyllis Hyman, Jill Scott, Minnie Ripperton, Patty Austin, Lena Horne, Tomatito, Paco de Lucia, Sabicas, Ramon Montoya, Guns & Roses, Shania Twain, Eric Clapton, Tupac, Buju, Shaba, Elephant Man, Patra.....on & on & on. See any generics on this list? Of course not! ;) Okay, okay. Maybe...Okay -- I'ma keep it real. I have to admit that despite what some may feel about hard-core rap, I happen to like some of it. I like it gritty & hostile; I like it viscious. But the flow's gotta be tight & the beat has gotta thump; the lyrics can't be completely stupid. It all has its place. My musical tastes are diverse, broad, & varied, so I don't turn a deaf ear to anything until it's proven that it doesn't warrant listening to. Some shyt is just "gah-bage." LOL...
Y Tu Mama Tambien, TOMBSTONE, The Wizard of Oz, The Departed, Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Kama Sutra, Dracula (w/Gary Oldham & Winona Rider)... & the list goes on & on 'cause I'm such a movie-whore... :)
The Outer Limits, Desperate Housewives...there really isn't anything more I want to see on television.
There's not enough space in this place, 'cause I've read lots of books this year... I can appreciate the insight of Shakti Gawain & the Dalai Lama, and have read most of Stephen King's projects (I get a kick out of his warped sense of humour). Reading is fundamental, y'all. Pick up a phuckin' book & turn off the television!!!
