Amateur bodybuilder, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor, innovator, motivational speaker, …with over 20 years experience in the field of fitness you will rarely find a more knowledgeable and well rounded trainer than Tarik Tyler. It isn’t just his list of clientele from Kate Hudson, Tiffani Theissen, and Maybeline spokesmodel Tomiko Fraser, but the fact he is a trainer of trainers. Tarik holds several certifications including the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as well as a specialized Speed Agility and Quickness (SAQ) certification from the National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association (NESTA) With his innate awareness of how bring out the best in people he has built successful training programs on both coasts of the USA. Tarik has secured the reputation as the one that pushes the boundaries that other trainers only imagine. From his days at Soho Training Center New York in 1986 to Crunch Fitness Los Angeles 2004 Tarik has always been ahead of his time. Before functional training, core fitness and balance and stability drills became known these were the regular tools of a Tarik Tyler training regimen. If you asked him what word would best describe his style of training, Tarik will simply answer…. RELENTLESS.In the span of his career he has been also featured in several publications (see media). He has also been an on air contributor to FOX NY/LA, Food Network, Extra TV and CBS. If you were lucky you caught Tarik on the VH-1 TV series “From Flab 2 Fab”. Each episode Tarik pushed the participants to unexpected heights and helped them shed an average 45 pounds in just 90 days! Tarik has now taken on the challenge of combating childhood obesity by joining with Shaquiile O’Neal On ABC’s six part documentary Shaq’s Big Challenge.Tarik new focus is to get a one million kids in America and throughout the world to make exercise a lifestyle via his “Learn it, Live it, Love it” …Train 4 Life”? program. This program teaches the multitudes of unfit youth how exercise helps to overcome life’s obstacles. He is also the founder of BringBackGym a non-profit agency dedicated to promoting fitness in inner city middle schools.
