If Warhol's a genius, then what am I?

About Me

I'm a drummer/musician. That is my main dedication in my life. I'm always interested in new projects/gigs. I'm also an atheist, and humanist activist.
About me as a musician:
I took up drumming at the age of 12. I immediatly took lessons and studied with a local drummer, Brian Smith. I then moved to Las Vegas, where I played as a local session drummer and played with a 3-peice gigging jazz combo.
That's when I was hired to be a drum teacher at S&K Music Studios, after they witnessed me playing with a friend who worked there. I learned very much about myself as a teacher, and had tons of fun doing it. I was rated top drum instructor.
I then moved back to Reno and almost immediatly joined Divine Cacophony, an experimental jazz fusion group with vast influences. I just recently joined another group called Schizopolitans (popinpurgatory.com, myspace.com/schizopolitans) and we will be recording and giggig again soon. I studied with drum legend Carlos Vega's ONLY student, Neal Strochio, where I learned many of Carlos's technique and developed versatility in latin drumming.
I'm Greek, I appreciate art in all of its forms.
I'm an Atheist. We are the most hated minority, qnd I beleive this is totally unfair and wrong to discriminate against and judge Atheists strictly based on their absense of religion. We are statistically less likely to become criminals than theists. The vast majority of active Atheists are not only very moral and intelligent, but they don't let superstition rule their lives. Atheism isn't something to be ashamed of. If you are religious: don't worry. I have nothing at all against religious PEOPLE, just their religion. I'll judge the individual by their actions, not beliefs per se. I also run a myspace page called NV atheists/free-thinkers for those who are interested in this stuff, I post many things on the subject of religion and politics.
I like controversy as well. Debate, visionaries, innovators, and people who think non-traditionally and question things. That is how society progresses.
I'm into pure natural/organic foods and also am interested in nutrition. I work for Whole Foods Market, and am proud to be a part of the most progressive company out there when it comes to conscious consumerism and non-corporate interest capitalism.
I know I don't care about many people's "about me's" too much, so i'll cut straight to the point.
The main purpose of this MySpace is to network with musicians and discuss things with people of similar interests.AIM screenname: MrMojoRisin571 Email: [email protected]

My Interests

Drumming, coffee tasting, obscure rhythm, Jazz, Art (in general), Atheism/Theism, Comedy, Nutrition (I eat almost exclusively all-natural/organic), Visionary artists, wine, Controversy, Debate, documentaries, stuff of that sort.

I'd like to meet:

Danny Carey, Bill Bruford, Adam Carolla, Quintin Tarantino, Richard Dawkins, Adrian Belew, Tom Leykis, Ike Willis, and many others.
Who would I want to meet on MySpace? Mostly musicians and people I can carry intellectual conversations with. People who can chat about some of my interests, then furthur my interest. But mostly, I started this page to advertise myself as a musician.

Music:

Music is everything to me, it's the part of me that I really care about the most, whether I am listening to it, making it, or discovering it.I'm open to all intriguing music with meaning. I listen to quite a bit of jazz, classical, fusion, hip-hop, prog, free-jazz, experimental, world...

To quote Sir Millard Mulch: "I study everything I listen to."
Although I have many musicians that care for especially in this list, some that stand out the most currently are John Coltrane (he is the epitome of music itself), Miles Davis, Frank Zappa, John Zorn, The Mars Volta, King Crimson, Tool, and Pharoah Sanders.
