Band Members: JILL FROMEWICK (harmonica, washboard, vocals)
*************************
Since Jill’s introduction to live blues at Fat Matt’s Rib Shack in Atlanta, her fascination with listening to harmonica players has turned into an obsession with playing. She has since studied with harmonica greats including Phil Wiggins, Annie Raines, and Joe Filisko, and incorporates modern and traditional influences in her individual approach to playing country blues. She’s been a regular guest with many bands in Asheville and beyond, ranging from blues to bluegrass, and including the Biscuit Burners, Menage, and the RibTips. Jill has recorded on Eliza’s CD, “Frisky or Fairâ€, Peggy Ratusz’s “It Takes a lot of Faithâ€; and soon-to-be-released solo projects by Asheville’s Lance Mills.

*************************
Eliza, voted Western North Carolina’s best singer/songwriter in the 2006 Mountain Xpress Reader's Poll, sings with a voice that is “soulful to the point of tasting collards (Hunter Pope, Mountain Xpress, Asheville, NC)". Her debut CD, Frisky or Fair, was released in 2005 to critical acclaim, including WNCW 88.7’s Top Ten regional albums of 2006, and showcases Eliza’s “near-perfect blend of honesty and integrity in songwriting and music that envelopes you like wisp of smoke (The Beat, Greenville, SC).†She was recently awarded a grant to study fingerstyle guitar with blues legend John Cephas to further absorb the traditional Piedmont blues sound that informs the original songs of Grit Pixies.
