I'm inspired by anything Mexican... culture, icons, music, Dia de los Muertos, Frida Kahlo, and a bold color palette. You will see pieces of my "Tejana" background in all of my work. When I make jewelry my motto is "the bolder the better!!" I also love experimenting with black & white photography.
I'd like to meet:
Frida Kahlo...duh!
I like meeting artists & people flowing with creativity and a positive vibe. Negative people SUCK!!!!!! And you know who you are....those that are constantly complaining about everything under the sun...including the sun! C'mon people live life to the fullest...quit your bitchin'!
Dona Tamalera
She is made with plaster, and get this.... tamale husks!!!! During the holidays, I was asked to create a piece of artwork for a Silent Auction benefiting the community. The medium everyone had to some how incorporate in there artwork: tamale husks. She fetched a pretty penny and was won by a famous city government official.

Novelas! What can I say...I'm addicted to the drama & and the funky colored walls! Although the story has been told in various versions...I'm obsessed with "La fea mas bella" and now that it has ended I don't know what to do with myself. I NEED another novela!!!!
Books:
"Woman Hollering Creek".....the best book of short stories on the planet and surrounding galaxies!! "Why Am I So Brown?" by Trinidad Sanchez, "Like Water for Chocolate" by Larua Esquivel, "Tina Modotti: A Fragile Life" by Mildred Constantine...anything by philospher/poet Rumi, Edgar Allen Poe, Nick Bantock, Federico Garcia Lorca.....the list is still growing as we speak.
