Sheba Shane is a product of Louisville, KY. Born in the same streets that raised Muhammad Ali she would go on to attend his alma mater, Central High School which lays in the heart of the city.
"I always had a way with words. Probably because I like to talk shit and no one was really speaking on topics that I felt needed to be addressed and just flat out wasn’t telling n*ggas how it is. So I just decided to do it myself."
After graduating from Central the death of a close friend caused Shane to re-evaluate life and to pick up her pen.
"It started as poetry at first. No flow, just words on paper. But as I started getting into it, I started to evolve and write to beats, and record. Thats when the swag came in. The confidence. Because of course I’m confident in conversation. I was crowned Shit Talk Champ of the World three years running. But there was a comfort level there. Once I reached that with rap, it was over."After much hard work on mixtapes, collaborations, and compilations Sheba is finally set to release her debut album "Sheba 4 President".
"The album has been a long time coming. You got ya whole life to work on ya first album so its definitely special. I titled the album ’Sheba 4 President’ because if I was running shit things would be a lot smoother right now. Plus I kinda piggybacked the fact that Hillary is running for a position thats male-dominated and I’m trying to establish a position in Hip-Hop which is also male-dominated. Most of the femcees that have come before me have not been in a position of power, whether over there images or careers or what have you. I plan to change that. I’m like Janet Jackson circa 1986, its all about control. And I’ve got lots of it."
