NEW ALBUM "FAMOUS FIGHTS" AVAILABLE AT PAUL'S CDS, DESOLATION ROW, AND AT SHOWS!
Vale and Year is a two-piece band from Pittsburgh, PA whose music has been described as "understated indie-folk to squealing No Wave sax and wild experimental passages, incorporating everything from banjo to melodica" (Ed Masley, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette). We have released four albums: Vale and Year Create A Perfect History, Vale and Year's Holy Music and Art, Civil, and Cardinal. In addition, we have released two eps and a string of limited edition improvisational pieces.
Over the two years of our existence, we have played shows with Wilco, Ted Leo, Prefuse 73, Early Day Miners, Okkervil River, Mary Timony, The Evens, On Fillmore, Tim Barnes, Mattin, Tatsuya Nakatani-Jack Wright-Michel Doneda, Grand Buffet, The Dirty Projectors, Keenan Lawler, Make Believe, Wolf Colonel, Mersault, and The Impossible Shapes.
We write, perform, engineer, and produce all of our recordings.
