I'll call you back, I'm going underground

About Me

I am broken and remade I am broken. In most ways I am probably a lot like you. I am usually a biped. I am human. I have genitals, hair, and lips. My personality has largely been created by the accident of my conception and numerous accidents that happened after that. I have the scars to prove it. I don't understand why we must all attempt to be such individuals, we are, but must we pretend to be more different than we are? Or am I just trying to be more different by accepting my similarities? Probably. I may have lied about my height but it's somewhere around there, never paid enough attention to it. I hope the last thing my father will say to me when he dies is, "feed me to the vultures." I will, I will do just that, well, metaphorically. One rule I live by is "when in doubt, don't eat it." But I also understand that rules are meant to be broken...

My Interests

Talking to people using urinals, getting tossed out of bars because of it, modulating electro-magnetic frequencies to transmit sound waves, amber monitors, sync sound, outsourcing my ego-mania, computing, shades of gray, economics, goosebumps [mine or someone else's, not the books], screenprinting, letters to the president by people who think they are actually read by him, random events and found objects, a certain je ne c'est qua, the mute button, popping corn, experimental video, food, digital manipulation of my olfactory center &C

I'd like to meet:

Someone who thinks that silence is not always uncomfortable. Someone who chooses not to kick or hit me in the head or groin when they choose to hit or kick me. Those who feel that civil disobedience is needed to create a free society. A beast of burden and a lion in one person and at the same time. Someone who uses the line, "Can I borrow some sugar?" And they don't mean the crystaline foodstuff. Barring those, fun, interesting, and thoughtful people [of course, I am allowed to judge whether you do or don't have those qualities, just as you are allowed to judge whether I have or don't have the qualities you are looking for] to hold entertaining conversations with, over email or in person. Preferably people who don't need to drink (that often) to have fun and don't hold it against me that I don't drink (that often) or have fun. No need to agree cause that's usually when it's most interesting.

Music:

noise, both in the wall of sound, rock band kind of way and in the quiet static or leaves rustling interspersed with painful high end and prostate vibrating low end, electronic kind of way, also some indy rock and rocky folk, minimal pop music, and non-vocal metal. there is so much more but if I were to pick one genre to pigeonhole myself in it would be electroacoustic. Hows that for an oxymoron. I'll listen to almost anything, I have a very wide definition of what qualifies as music.

Movies:

Beckett on Film, most things Gilliam, Cronenberg, and Wong Kar-Wai, Godard, certain action flicks which I am somewhat embarrased to enjoy, Delecatessen, hal hartley, things that take place in Chicago or other places I've been so I can feel like I know something others might not &C.

Television:

Jackass, C-Span [the real reality TV], UCB, Fox News [I like watching my blood pressure rise], Punk'd, VH1, Millionaire Shows [I sit there, a slack jawed yokel].

Books:

House of Leaves, The Wealth of Nations, The Communist Manifesto, anything by Beckett, most things by Borges, &C. PERIODICALS: The Baffler, The Wire, Dissent, Harper's

Heroes:

Samuel Beckett. Many characters who have the wisdom to be fictional

The Sneak Attack

I was outside of school, smoking a cigarette when some people near me started having the most interesting conversation. This gay man was ribbing his friend, a woman, about her first anal exploits. S...

Perpetual Boredom

No, I am not bored [at least not usually, this does not preclude the possibility]. It's a phrase I come into contact with quite a bit. People say they are bored and I say, Don't be. If you don't en...
