Hi, Im Leni DiMancari from the Bad Animals: A Tribute to Heart . Im blessed to be able to have my best friend and lovely wife Sandy as the lead singer of this incredible mix of musicians. We play because we love to play, and mostly we play because get to perform the music of one of the greatest female fronted Rock Acts of all time, Heart. I came out of retirement after hearing my angel sing for the first time and realized that we could do something magical together (As well as..well you know..) and since coming back out in 2001, I've had more fun and a new found respect for musicians and the circuit that we are fortunate to play up here. I havn't always done the Heart Tribute, although it's my favorite thing that I've done in the past 20 plus years. I did a bunch of recording throughout the 80's and early 90's with several well known musicians and well known bands from the Twin Cities, Chicago, and the Bay Area and came up with over a dozen Cds, albums and Cassettes that are floating around out there. I was very lucky to meet the right people at the right time and fortunately had the majority of projects on Indie Labels, a few that sold well, and a few that didn't sell sh*t. Im proud to say that I've been a part of 3 different projects that have been nominated for Mn Music Awards, including the most recent nominations for The Bad Animals in 2006 for Best Cover Band & Tribute Band. I have played and recorded with members of Y&T, Montrose, LeMans , Cacophony, Dare Force, Slave Raider and Accept. I was the founding member of Atlantic recording artist Hericane Alice, but left to pursue a solo career and was on my 3rd solo record prior to their release, and never looked back. I love what I do now and hope it never ends, but eventually it might. The Bad Animals Nine Live's tour kicked off in March of 2007 and brought our band to 4 of the major festivals that year & 45 Cities. We performed to over 50 thousands friends and fans in 2007, including appearances at the Jotown Festival to over 17000, Moondance Jam and Halfway Jam. Over the past 4 years our band has had the pleasure of sharing the bill with Warrant, Starship, Night Ranger, The Guess Who, Ted Nugent, Toto, the Moody Blues and the legendary Bobby V. I love music and it has always been a part of my life and I thank Sandy for bringing me back to be able to give back, and love her more than anything for that. Nothing in the world compares to the feeling you get when you are performing, especially when you look out at all of those teeth and eyes. Thanks for being a part of this. The Love Rocks Tour kicked off on January 19th 2008.
