We are launching the book on 14th November at 6pm at Lancaster Litfest where I will be reading with the brilliant poets Graham Mort and Ian Duhig. Please come along, it would be great to see you.
If you want a taste of my writing there are poems, reviews and ramblings on my blog, or some recent publications are at: shadowtrain issue 4 and issue 15 and stride magazine
You can read recent story in Ginosko Literary Journal - Issue 4
I have another short story 'The Towpath' and some prose poems published in The Big Picture (publisher Lancaster Litfest. This book is the culmination of a collaborative writing project I was involved in where I worked with two other writers from NW England and a brilliant fiction writer from Kampala, Uganda, exploring some of our views and experiences in writing. It's on sale here
My latest collaboration is The Embedded Project - a poem inspired by a monoprint She by Gemma Lacey.

My Interests

My writing tends to be about these things: Pigeons. Fish and Chips. Child Abuse. Silence. Violence. Family. The sea. Being small. Listening through closed doors. Rough pubs. Bare feet. Scars. Snow. Enclosed spaces. Trampling in leaves. Ice-skating on the river. Dodgy men in the park. Identity. Therapy. Dirty fingernails. Big brothers. Being invisible. Absence. Arson. Maggots. Tattoos. Back yards. Bitchy mates. Abandoned mills. Hearing voices. Telling stories. Forgetting the time. Lost love. Hiding in wardrobes.

I'd like to meet:

writers, creatives, innovatives, interesting people who have things to say.... if you want to add me as a friend, I'm curious about why, so drop me a line and let me know...

what you forget returns to you in a hundred different ways

And yet everybody wants to breathe and nobody can breathe and a lot of people say "we'll be able to breathe later" and most people dont die, because they are already dead.
