aka Sleepy Tea

About Me

Mr. Tumnus' Sleepy Tea is a homegrown Original Jazz Fusion band from Northern Jersey. Whether it is hard rock or silky jazz love songs; this band has melded their favorite genres together for your entertainment. We are looking for a drummer and keyboardist to finalize the lineup...let us know if you're interested.
The above songs are recorded in the old school tradition...put everything into a mixer get the levels right and hit record for a live feel. Then lay down vocals on top for a cleaner sound. That is until we decide to go to a studio. Oh and don't worry, there are alot of songs to be heard. For those of you interested in a hard copy there is a Demo CD available which will slowly get updated as we perfer one song from another...it happens.
*New recordings are being worked on!*
Remember to subscribe to our blog for up-to-date music info and news about the band. So you know when we upload new versions from more recent practices and shows as we get them. Along with gigs we may have lined up, photos being updated, random ramblings, and much more...
Open Mics: We have decided that playing the ones hosted at the Grist Mill Cafe will be where we are playing unless otherwise stated. This way our schedule only has shows so there won't be any confusion. Also, let it be known that we would love to go your favorite local open mic so just drop us a line.
The band started off with three members which took six months to disconnect from past bands sounds and sculpt music that better suites them. You have Kevin with his Classical/Jazz training in vocals and trumpet (which we will get him to play during a song at some point) mixed with his improvisation play it by ear Bass playing has the groove. Also adding to the mix Bryan has his urge to feel the music while laying down beats to bring in the motion. Last but not least Steve with his “I picked up the guitar and just can't put it down” attitude and his always warm vocals sets the vibe. This is the lineup where the majority of the music was written in. Now it's down to Steve and Kevin to keep the groove going so be sure to expect a new lineup soon!
Beer of choice: Rolling Rock...because it's cheap. (Bryan made me do it!)
