My names Ross Walker, I am a 24 year old DJ and producer from the Northwest. I have been DJing for almost 5 years. My break came when I won a local DJ competton and became a resident of a night called Energize. Since then I have regularly playing there and helping on the promotion side. We have run nights in Stoke, Macclesfield and Northwich.
Since winning I have also been judging the competitions, promoting local talent.
I am now reqularly playing at House Proud in Sheffield, Wired Up in Sandbach and Sessions in Northwich (hopefully in Manchester very soon). I am a co-founder of Sessions, which is set to be big.
My musical taste is varied and ranges from funky house to electro to minimal to techno, and everything in between. What I play has no boundaries and I feel a DJ should never be pigeon-holed into one genre.
My influenes come from DJs and producers such as Alive/Broken (My Partner in crime), Erol Alkan, 2ManyDjs, Simian Mobile Disco, Daft Punk, Cirez D, Gui Boratto, Luke Dzierzek, Sven Vath, Chemical Brothers, Trentemoller, Ozgur Can, Booka Shade, Richie Hawtin, Oliver Huntenann, Digitalism, Elektrochemie, Guy Gerber, John Dhalback, Dan Doran, Cesco, Jus Phil and Fergie.
I have recently stared producing under the guise of r.a.w. (my initials), with my very good friend Serge (Alive/Broken). He is a very talented producer and is keen to push musical boundaries. Our collaboratoins come under the name of "Alive & r.a.w.". This is our first project together and our different backgrounds, as a DJ and a producer, is a great combination.
QA7 and QA8 have both had great support from many DJs, with QA7 being played on Eddie Halliwells Radio1 show 3 times. They are beng released on Monu-mental Digital very soonQA 7 and QA 8 Feedbackmarco v
