I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

A video introducing me to you:
I grew up in Syracuse, New York until 1996 when I moved to Little Rock, Arkansas. I first realized that I'm gay when I was about 5 and came out to friends and family at 19. I enjoy quiet nights at home as well as large gatherings of wild and crazy groups of friends. I don't plan too far ahead and try to live in the moment. I have one dog and one cat (Marie and Stella respectively). I think television is boring but I have a crap-load of DVDs to watch - too many than neccessary. I'm sensitive and tolerant but I'm not a pushover and can be easily aggressively annoyed by ignorance or insensitivity of others. I'm fiercely independent and I'd rather be single than involved in a relationship, at this time. I think of myself as being somewhat of a nerd and a little bit of a perfectionist if I see something not being done right the way I think it should be done. I'm really loyal to all my friends but I don't like to be taken advantage of. I think all my friends are great even if we sometimes don't agree or get along, I wouldn't stop being friends with them over petty reasons.
I could keep listing these things forever but I'll stop here and let you get to know me and make your own opinions and judgements.
Here's a crazy compilation of clips from some of my favorite movies, tv shows and music. There's no rhyme or reason to it, just a video medley. See if you can name all the clips.
If you're curious about what you and I would be like in a relationship, I'll let this music video tell you my feelings on that:
Michael Feinstein - I Won't Send Roses
That pretty much sums up my thoughts on romance...

My Interests

Porn!

I'd like to meet:

Kylie Minogue, Neil Tennant, Barry Manilow, Sharon Lee McLean, Jeff Stryker, Bruce Kimmel.

Music:

I probably listen to what's now called "oldies" music. I'm not hip to what's new and trendy and I don't keep tabs on top of the chart action so I have no idea about what's currently happening in the music world.

Movies:

I don't go to theaters but wait for everything to come out on DVD or cable. I prefer comedies and light drama.

You can click on any of the above box cover images and order that item.

Television:

I don't watch a lot of TV except maybe the news channels, science channels, history channels, home improvement channels. I don't know why I still have a tv set, 80% of everything I watch is thru the computer now. Linear TV is so 20th Century!

Of the few commercial programs I watch, here are a few I HIGHLY recommend.

Books:

Very painful and personal, this is the story of a mother's struggle to reconcile the tension between her deeply held religious beliefs and the suicide of her gay son. Mary Griffith came from a religious family and raised her four children to believe in God and live a Christian life. Their conservative Presbyterian church was the center of family life for every family member except Mary's husband, Bob. When 17-year-old Bobby confided to older bother Ed that he was gay, the family's life changed. Mary convinced Bobby to pray that God would cure him and to seek solace in church activities. Bobby did it all, but the church's hatred of homosexuality and the obvious pain his gayness was causing his family led him increasingly to loathe himself. Excerpts from a diary he kept, family photos, and letters written by Mary to her dead son make the book intense reading for both high-school and public library patrons. Click on the books image to order it.
If you sob at Hallmark commercials or tear up when a vegetable is chopped up, these four books of poems will rip your heart out. Poet Javan can leave you an emotional wreak or feel overpowered with a sense of longing and hope. I typically don't cry at mushy commericals, i'm from New York, we're built with the bitter and jaded gene already inside of us. These, however, got to me and if you're not built "Ford tough" like I think I am, imagine what they'll do to you! Stock up on Kleenex.

Primaries are for the people - not the politicians and news heads.

Nobody has a shining gold award when it comes to gay rights.  Some have actually implied that they wanted to incorporate the Jim Crow laws and apply them to gays: separate but equal.  So i'm...
