Michelle wanted to be an actress at an early age, but always believed that her father expected her to follow in his footsteps as a doctor and tried to ignore the lure of acting for several years. After attending an all girls Catholic school for thirteen years, Nicastro had finally decided to become an actress by the time she enrolled at Northwestern University in Illinois and majored in theatre and speech.
Michelle originating the role of Eponine in the Los Angeles Production of Les Miserables garnered Michelle both the Drama League Critics Award and the Robby Award. She has also starred in Merlin on Broadway and been introduced by Placido Domingo as a featured soloist at The Hollywood Bowl, touring Japan with that Orchestra under the direction of John Mauceri. In addition to starring opposite Barry Manilow in his Showstoppers World Tour, Nicastro has also appeared as Jane in A Little Night Music, Luciana in The Boys From Syracuse and in feature films such as When Harry Met Sally, The Bad Guys, and Body Rock. Most recently, she was the actress behind the swan in the animated feature, The Swan Princess. Michelle's TV credits include Maggie Briggs, Santa Barbara, Days Of Our Lives, Peaceable Kingdom, Shrink and the Mow's, Hart To Hart and the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. She was the voice of Princess Odette in the Swan Princess movies. She also was the singing voice of the Callisto in the musical episode (The Bitter Suite) of Xena Warrior Princess. Her other albums include studio recordings of Massada, Pardon My English, Lady Be Good and Everyone Has a Story
