I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

THIS IS MY PERSONAL MYSPACE. The record label (Made Records) set up another site for me at MYSPACE.COM/JIMMYJAMES. I keep up with both but wanted a more personal one for my friends, family or fans. So here it goes...
Currently, I live in New York City but I'm originally from San Antonio, TX. New York is where I found myself as an Artist. I also used to live in Los Angeles in the early 1990's and I may return someday.
I'm an Entertainer and kind of a performance artist with a 20plus year career. I'm also a Singer/Songwriter and Recording Artist with a current hit in the clubs called "FASHIONISTA." I wrote the lyrics! It's been a life-long dream come true. The song seems to have struck a chord with people as evident with all the YOUTUBE uploads. Down below I've added some of the YOUTUBES from people around the globe performing or singing my song! I LOVE IT! I have found more than 40 uploads on YOUTUBE. I wish I had royalties from all the Drag Queens around the world who have performed my song. LOL! If a Drag Queen performs your song, YOU'VE ARRIVED!
My Dance music single "FASHIONISTA" comes from my self-penned original album called "JAMESTOWN"(on iTunes, Amazon, Best Buy, Borders etc...). It's a concept album. I use Dance Music to express my messages and stories. Every song in JAMESTOWN is a true story from my life, or has a Social Commentary embedded within the lyrics. The liner notes say: "Welcome to Jamestown. Jamestown dwells in the mind of Jimmy James. Enter at your own risk. Once you have entered you may never be the same..." I worked my ass off in New York City to make my music happen - and I DID IT! In April 2008 we are planning to release another single with fresh remixes called "FAMOUS."
I am also known for my Voice Impressions of famous Divas and years ago I used to impersonate Marilyn Monroe. I played the Marilyn role for at least 14 years (some of my performances are on YOUTUBE - search: ONEANDMANYJIMMYJAMES). At the time I was so good that many television talk shows featured me as their guest. I worked extremely hard to recreate the great lady. I did it very well. I'm proud of my "Marilyn Years" but in 1997 I retired from performing as Marilyn. I so desperately wanted to EVOLVE as an Artist. I wanted to move on.
THANKFULLY I've been able to evolve and move on. Being able to turn things around in my career is one of proudest yet hardest things I've ever done. I've managed to make my other dreams come true with my own music - with my own songs. This accomplishment is very hard-won. I'm now enjoying to a whole new generation of fans. Teenagers and on up write to me about digging my music. This is so awesome and so rewarding!
I want to keep it real. I want to have fun. I want to be social. I don't want to be isolated from the public. I am shy and private but I'll hang out in clubs and meet people, although I'm actually very private.
I'm tenacious about achieving my goals. I have integrity. I'm sincere, honest, and a hopeless romantic. I like the simplest things in life - Sunshine, jogging, books, music, photography, movies and documentaries. I'm fascinated by the art of motion pictures and documentaries. I would love to have my music on motion picture sound tracks. I love California and hope to return someday. I'm always California dreaming and I love convertible cars.
LIFE IS GREATER THAN DEATH, BUT LOVE IS GREATER THAN EITHER.
ILLUSION WILL NEVER SATISFY YOU, ONLY THE TRUTH OF WHO YOU ARE, IF REALIZED, WILL SET YOU FREE. - Eckart Tolle

My Interests

I'm interested in the Entertainment business and Music. I record and write songs. I sing. I do Voice Impressions. I'm sort of a performance artist. I like listening to other lyricists. Writing a new song is like having a baby. It's yours. It comes from you. It's a part of you. A well written song is magic. A memorable song is historical. I also like great entertainers. People who really know the art of entertaining an audience. From Madonna to Jack Benny to Lucille Ball, to Don Rickles etc... Old School and New School. There is an art to entertaining an audience. It takes a certain talent to be great at it.

I'd like to meet:

Everybody!
