We are really excited to launch the Rising Stars Competition for Bands and DJs to win a slot at at Sunrise Celebration, the UK's leading Green music festival!
Unlike many other festivals Sunrise's music is programmed predominantly from the thousands of underground, independent musicians who apply to us directly each year. We have a great desire to nurture and celebrate fresh UK talent and to this end have decided to launch 'Rising Stars', a competition to win a slot on the Sunrise 2008 SolarAid Main Stage, alongside an all-star line up including The Dub Pistols, The Beat and legends of electro The Orb!
And in the spirit of musical democracy we have opted to let the public decide who they would like to see perform!
Click here to ENTER the competition
You will receive a confirmation email that will contain a link to forward to your friends and supporters to vote for your entry.

2. Waveform Project Festival was nominated for 2 awards
Last year Sunrise was nominated for 3 and won 1, the Shelter award for social responsibility, This year we were nominated for:
Best Small Festival
A Greener Festival
Best Festival Toilets
Best Grass Roots Festival
Most Fan-Friendly
Thanks to everyone that made Waveform such a beautiful event, the feedback we have had has been amazing, nominated in its first year for:
Best New Festival A Greener Festival www.festivalawards.com Its fantastic that Sunrise has been acknowledged through these awards, and we have a good claim over all of them. The initiatives in place at Sunrise have been designed with the highest intention for people and planet and things such as eco rangers and compost toilets are now popping up at other festivals as well. We are aware there is much room for improvement, and as the festival prepares for its 3rd year we are evolving and progressing fast. Sunrise 2006 was great, but by all accounts 2007 was fantastic so 2008 looks very exciting! This year the management structure of the festival will be changing somewhat in order to reflect the grass roots nature of our event, Sunrise is a co-creation of everyone involved and is made by festival people, for festival people… we are hoping in particular that 'best grass roots festival' and 'A Greener Festival' have our name on them! With Love from The Sunrise Crew and the Waveform Posse x ************************************************************ *******************

“Sunrise was the best new festival of 2006 by far - beautiful vibe, full of surprises.... the diversity of creativity and ideas was a joy... it totally captured what is best about English festivals ...really free, lots of heart and great music... kind of how I always imagined Glastonbury would have felt in its early yearsâ€
