BIOG 2008
-A frenetic concoction of Electro and BreakBeat executed with fearsome Punk Rock energy. SUBSOURCE are PUNKBREAKS. Subsource serve frenzied sermons of primeval beats and their live shows are controlled collisions of musical sub genres.
Stuart Henshall can be found centre stage playing a supercharged electric double bass whilst his vocals swoon over the heavy breaks. On synths, glitches and electronic percussion is technical wizard and classically trained pianist Dennis Ng aka 'Borg' whose onstage antics can turn the most lacklustre crowd into an electro freak-out. Stage right is a blur of movement as multi instrumentalist Paul Frazer flits between guitar, synths and percussion in a frenzy of activity and to the rear Neil Shervell's fearsome machine gun drumming helps create an overall sound that can only be described as unique. Kimba is the MC, compere and vibes man – the finest MC talent from the Southern Hemisphere, hailing from Malawi in the heart of Africa bringing soul and his monstrous raps to this huge outfit.
The boys are now setting out to tour extensively throughout the UK, and are primed for an all out assault on Britain’s musical consciousness.

March News

Not too much to say about the Clockwork show. It was late, there was nobody there bar a few of our most-loved friends and fans. Tim Westwood didn’t show up as advertised on the flyers (to the re...

The Journey Home (Borg With The Boomchucka Circus)

A quick visit to the Nativity Church, where I spend an hour trying to figure out how I got so much dust on the sensor of my camera and attempt a futile clean-up using the equipment I have on me. Then ...

Final Day: Protest In Bilin (Borg With The Boomchucka Circus)

For a minute I panic that I've overslept because I've woken up and there's just me and the snoring guy in the room. I find the others later dotted around the hostel having sought somewhere quieter to ...

Day 12: Airstrikes in Gaza (Borg In Palestine)

The Circus has a rare day off. It's quite incredible really, to be able to come to a country with an act like this who have nothing booked - but then with the help of contacts such as Susana and putti...

Day 11: The Youth Club (Borg With The Boomchucka Circus)

The morning starts with one of the rowdiest shows so far. At times, I worry that there's going to be a stage invasion - the kids are getting so caught up in it. The audience sprawls laterally as every...

Day 10: Day Of Rest (Borg In Palestine)

With bleary eyes, I'm woken up by Jen and Ruth getting ready to leave. The taxi turned up ten minutes ago and all-in-all, it sounded like a pretty good excuse to have a day off and I catch up with a b...
