Morning

Morning is a female-fronted metal band with progressive influences. The band was formed in the summer of 2000 by singer Saskia van Heugten and drummer Mauro Pi. In autumn 2000 the brothers Pol Bannier (bassguitar) and Stijn Bannier (synths) joined the band. After working for two years with just one guitarist and releasing two demos in 2001 and 2002, the Dutch band decided in summer 2002 to continue with two guitarists. The remaining members found Martijn Brauwers and Bas Rensen.
Thanks to the raving reviews from the (inter)national press when releasing the third demo ‘Inside’ in 2003 and lots of live gigs, Morning got signed at Black Lotus Records. This resulted in the worldwide release of the full-lenght album ‘Hour of Joy’ in september 2005. The release makes sure that the international press is impressed once again and also leads to lots of gigs in the Netherlands and abroad.
2006 is an important year for Morning, not only because of the great gigs - the band went on tour with Epica, played the biggest venues of the Netherlands, headlined some festivals and did a mini-tour through Belgium and Germany -, but also because of the new album they’re working on. 2007: Besides some gigs with a.o. Arjen Lucassen/Stream of Passion and Epica, Morning is recording the album: the new songs sound great, are catchy, yet still pounding metal with a progressive edge!
