About Me

Daas Helios.
I have been a netizen since before the web.
The web having been launched around 1994--1995, I have been surfing BBS through old old old school dial-up, and TELNETing around the world back during the Cold War.
That was quite an interesting experience since the former Soviet Union was not even lit up on the net back then.
We had to (surf up hill through snow both ways!) pop up through Champange-Urbana satellite up-link, then over to Europe, back down in Finland, just to get to Australia. Back then, we would jump across to Japan and then back to San Fran Just to tag ourselves here in the states.
We used to race around the world back then. It was the thing to do.
Sometimes we would take over a machine in San Lou and dial out long distance back home just to say we could do it.

For those that get a "random" friend add from me, it probably is that you live within my range of stomping!
maybe the coffee could be virtual, unless you could buy the plane ticket!
That means you and I can meet for coffee and I liked your profile.

The Four Immeasurables
May all living beings have happiness and the causes of happiness;
May all living beings be free from misery and the causes of misery;
May all living beings never be separated from happiness, devoid of misery;
May all living beings abide in equanimity free from prejudicial attachments and aversions.
- The Buddha
I have decided to start taking donations for anything, I guess. Mainly for the artwork. So if you look at it, and you like it, and especially if you want to use it for any reason, please make a donation here. It is a paypal link.
Thanks, daas.
I am an artist by training. I work in digital imaging at a news agency. I use a wide bed scanner.
A bit about my pic's: It's pretty much that I like to 'enhance' an image. I also want people to know I am not just some punk with a baseball cap turned sideways.
I am pretty much a Tee-Shirt and jeans guy. I have two old piercings, but they are just holes in my left ear from when I was a kid. I don't wear any jewelry because it always gets hung up on something when I am working.
I really like talking with people in face time, and even though I no longer drink, a quiet bar would be great if anyone wants to meet me.
I would also like to meet opinionated, smart, talkative ... people so that I can interview them. The video blog thing again.
A disclaimer about my blog: All writers write about what they know. Not all writers write non-fiction. If you find yourself reflected in the blog, well, Consider it fiction...All characters are fictitious.
A second disclaimer: I have a policy of posting as soon as it is edited. If one of my "interviewees" decides that it should not be posted, well, tell me in advance; otherwise, I will remove it as soon as I possibly can (barring internet failure & etc.)

“If you are ready to alter some of the current outcomes in your life then you will need to start with your beliefs. There are many categories. First there are 'fatal beliefs' - "I cant, I'm not able, I never will..." These are the beliefs we have about ourselves, that set the boundaries and limitations of ourselves. Then there are 'blocker beliefs' - "I am stupid...my boss is an idiot...did you see that crazy person?" These are beliefs about others and, for however long they last, they block the flow of energy in a relationship. They are bricks in the walls we build between each other. Then there are survival beliefs' - "Get what you can while you can....there is not enough to go around...you have to look after number one." These beliefs would have us live in fear and anxiety, otherwise known as insecurity. We can choose our beliefs. But first we may have to unchoose the ones that have crept in over the years, now living comfortably 'below stairs' and seem to be part of our inner furniture. If you want different outcomes in your life, change your beliefs first. Clean up down stairs.” (Innerspace)
“Take delight in small things because it is from tiny seeds that flowers grow.” (Innerspace)
