RICCARDO CHIARION****He began as a self-taught musician and then continued his musical education with Glauco Venier, a well-known pianist from Friuli.****He studied for two years with drummer-percussionist Roberto Dani from Vicenza, with whom he perfected his knowledge of the rhythmic aspects of jazz.****In 2004 he graduated summa cum laude in Jazz Music from Triestes music academy Conservatorio G. Tartini.****He plays in the Pietro Tonolo New Quartet together with Marc Abrams and Tommaso Cappellato, playing in variuous festival (Siena Jazz, Koper Jazz Festival etc...).****He played in the record SEASONS, featuring music composed by Glauco Venier and arranged for orchestra by Valter Sivilotti.****He played with many well-known musicians in the Italian and European jazz scene such as: K. Gesing, M. France, C. Laurence, E. Vloeimans, P. Tonolo, N. Le, Y Goloubev, J. Pukl, R. Lopatic, M. Loborec, D. Cecchini, P. Birro, R. Emili, A. Kramer, R. Dani, S. Majore, D. Boato, M. Alulli, M Abrams, R. Bonnisolo, U.T. Ghandi, F. Sotgiu, D. Memoli, M. Chiarella.****He played in various festivals, such as International October Jazz Festival of Jazz 2003 (Kragujevac -Yu), Garda Jazz Festival 2003, Cartellone Jazz Teatro Eden (Treviso), Lignano Jazz, Gorizia Jazz, Udine Jazz, Jazz and Wine, Folkest 2005 and more.****With Namòs, he recorded a CD entitled Sestante. Personnel also includes Pietro Tonolo on tenor saxophone.****Lately he took part to Glauco Venier's Tribute to Frank Zappa, playing together with internationally acclaimed musicians such as Martin France, Klaus Gesing, Chris Laurence, Eric Vloeimans, Pietro Tonolo, Dario Cecchini, Rossano Emili, Marcello Alulli, Yuri Goloubev, Mirko Cisilino, Federica Santi, Luca Colussi, Alberto Vianello, Gabriele Rampogna.****Since 1995 he has been teaching modern guitar, jazz interpretation, jazz theory, ensemble music and ear training in Gorizia at the Music School Fondazione Città di Gorizia. Since 2004-2005 he is head-teacher of electric guitar at Conservatorio Jacopo Tomadini in Udine.
