Deceivers.
P60 Amstelveen, April 28th, 2007.
I, deRuige was born in Amsterdam in the year 1964 as Zacharias Jager, named after my grandfather.
At the age of eight I started playing the drums and when I reached the age of twelve I started my one band.
When my neighbours left Amsterdam a family from Trinidad moved in. The only music they played was Reggae. There my love for Reggae Music began.
In 1980 I started the reggae band Tuwakka and played a lot in the Dutch club circuit. The band split in 1985 an I became a studio musician. In 1994 Mr. Review, a well known up tempo ska band, asked me to join them for touring through Europe.
In 1998 I quit and started the band Rude Rich and the High Notes, a Ska, Rocksteady and Early Reggae collective. They are well known artist now and played with legends as Derrick Morgan, Alton Ellis, Rico Rodriguez, Dennis Alcapone, Winston Francis, U Brown and the Heptones.
In 2002 Rude Rich opened up there own recording studio in downtown Amsterdam.
There it went wrong for me, now there was time and the equipment to do other things besides drumming. Now I can play and mix my own shit, but how? I asked Rob Berends the engineer from the High Notes Recording Studio for some tips and he did. My first results ended on the 12" record, Winston Francis meets the High Notes,
Mr. Fix It / Im Not A King released on Rude Rich Records in 2006. (RRR06T101)
