In his days of 13/14 years boy, he entered, against the will of his Parents, in a Small situated Rasta community in the Guetho of “Bairro Operario”, in Luanda, where he strengthened his belief in a philosophy inspired by ancestral Africans way of living. In 1992, the fever for music became stronger after he had participated and won a competition of Music for a local Radio program (L.A.C.). The tape recording testifies his first steps of toasting on the riddims and making portuguese of Angola sound like Patwa, as Jamaica deejays tradiction would demand.for being the winner he gained a shynthesizer, that help him to join two friends and make history, being the first Angolan Hip-Hop/Ragga underground group. Kool Kleva, Gangsta Dú and Prince Wadada, had formed the “G.C.Unity”, the Union of the Ghetto and the City. for the benefit of the urban poetry. In 1994 Mário António looking for ideal sound for his artistic aspirations dicided hugs the solo career. on the 6th floor varanda of Brazil avenue in Luanda, right in the building 32, he found a place and arrangements to instal the first Angolan SoundSystem. Bacause of his several repetitions on passing in high volume the Burning Spear music “Black Wadada” the neighbours just started calling him Wadada.them he add Prince as a tribute to Prince Fari. In 1995 thanks of the success of his soundsystem he was invited to be part of a radio program called “Top Reggae”. In Angola collaborated with musicians as Eduardo Paim, Pather Mak, Afro Kett and Nina Harley and, in 1998, received the invitation from the Ministry of the Culture to join a group of chosen artists to represent the Country in the Expo-98 of Lisbon. 1998 is also the year when he edits his first album of originals with tittle of “Kem é Kem”. One year later he was invited to participate on the tour of General D and the Kussondulola. At 1999 he joined Janelo da Costa, Toy Cool, Damula, Lexo and Johnny to form the first Portugal SoundSystem with the denomination of “Fankambareggae.” In 2000, he joined nominated Portuguese musicians, as Viviane, Dora Fidalgo, João Aguardela, Varatojo Luis, Rui Duarte, Janelo da Costa, , in a project called “Linha da Frente” resulting from that, the edition of an album with poetries of Alexander O..Neal, Manuel Alegre and António Aleixo. However, with project Dubadelic SoundSystem, he had the chance to share the stage with the reggae producer and musician Lee “Scrash” Perry. Prince Wadada records his second album in 2004, intitled “Natty Kongo”, a celebration his North of Angola roots. The record was made with the band created for support in concerts. the band is named Kimbangui Band and is presently composed with musicians: Batata, Pardal, Mandala, João Pestana and Cabrita. One of the best moments of the Wadada career, was distinguished in a dueto with Gentleman in the Sodoeste Festival of 2004, backed by Far East Band. The third album with the heading “Entendimento”, edited in 2005, was well received by the media qualifying the work as one of the best reggae release sung in Portuguese. The album counts with the featuring of Bezegol (Matozoo), Marta Ren (Sloppy Joe) and Charly Skank, in the co-production. Prince Wadada is one of the musicians who more contribute for strong affirmation of the Reggae in lands of Camões, through SoundSystems and Concerts live. Step by step the Musician is findind his ways, verses full of positivity, social conscience and much love to the mixture. The artist is many times cited as the Prince, the King of portuguese language reggae dance-hall . Wadada divided the Palco with musicians as Patrice, Gabriel o Pensador, Anthony B, Israel Vibration, Alpha Blondy and Damian Marley; he participated in the first “One Riddim Album” edited in the Europe for the Germaican Record, and recorded for the Brazilian Digital Dubs SoundSystem and 7 Velas. his discographia also counts on many album participation, such as Copa Reggae, NaÇaão Hip Hop, Riddim Zone (Spain), and Musidança.
