DubKraft Records delivers you now for you one of the most psychotormenting and revolutionary releases of the year: "UltraBlack Is The New..." EP by our new signees - UltraBlack.
The Phoenix, Arizona based crew developed their own unique sound, ruff, deep and minimal, with influences ranging from industrial to drum'n'bass, already scouted by Rottun and Function/Forward too, let alone their own forthcoming label Microterrorizum Recordings.
Caution: Listening to these might feel a bit strange for a while, that's because you've never heard something like this before and you need time to adjust your mental tuner!

DKR003MP3:
“As the dubstep scene become even harder to break into with the dominance of the big league DJ¹s only pushing their own material, here East European dub slinger Alien Pimp and his Dubkraft imprint release two dark and eerie gems ready to challenge the like of Tempa, Tectonic and Planet Mu. Seek out the new breed and purchase.” Mark Gurney - ATM Magazine/ 2nd Drop Records
“Dungeon Master is the perfect crossover of trip hop blunted vibez and heavy weight bass. Ideal for bass meditation! Whoppa is a bit too crazy for my personnal tastes…” BunZer0 - SubFM
“Dungeon Master (Alien Pimp Remix) is quite a minimal, eerie and scary tune that you could easily find in a horror film. The sub carries you sliding to a very low frequency. This track reminds me of watching the x-files. A nice simple drum structure which sounds like it's been recorded live. Whoppa is a very dark track with random voices and sounds here and there. The bass and drum beat doesn't stop switching up from start to finish. I can see this track converting drum and bass heads into the Dubstep sound.” Deapoh – Bare Dubs Records
DKR002mp3 – THE FORWARDUB EP
The Dub Force is strong with these tracks, but they can be described in many ways as well: experimental electronica, ambient, electro-jazz, idm flavoured minimal techno… Or just the free musical expression.
Alien Pimp & Aleena – On’n’On (Dub Mix)
After the dancefloor smasher Robots and Cellos, Alien Pimp, the head of DubKraft Rec., teams up with Aleena and flips the record delivering a very ambiental dubstep tune with jazzy elements and spacey sounds that will float you to the above cloud no matter how high you are…
Preponderance - Inside the Mushroom Cloud
This guy is above the law when it comes about music skills and creativity. Involved in too many projects to count, dealing with sound as easy and relaxed as Bush signs a declaration of war, Sweden based Preponderance wipes off the border between dubstep/IDM/minimal electro.
Misk – The Deep Ones
Though a relative newcomer to the scene, Misk has spent many years honing his production skills in the studio. By combining his love for outlandish sound design with an unhealthy interest in rhythm and atmospheres, this southern Californian producer is pushing sonic boundaries. Be on the lookout for him in 2007 as he continues to push tunes that define his original sound!
Mis.Vein – Dry-Tones
DubKraft happily supports this Japanese producer’s disrespect for musical standards! This track sounds like Darth Vader and Burial shared a spliff in Jean Michel Jarre’s studio. Enough said!
DKR001mp3 : Bad Boys Spliffin’
A: Ka – Oil Man
AA: Alien Pimp – Robots and Cellos
These are the debutes in the dubstep scene for two East-European dnb producers.
Alien Pimp’s identity is nothing to debate around, he’s the founder of SoundKraft Rec and DubKraft rec, enjoying international breakthrough this year with a few international releases and gigs.
But Ka is even larger, he's one of the most respected pioneers of East-European dnb, and for those who are involved in the dnb phenomenon too, it's enough to say Implex!
MIXMAG - January 2007 issue:
"We can forgive the slightly embarrassing cracked English title, as Romania’s first dubstep release contains some impressively tidy productions. Ka’s ‘Oil Man’ is the dubbiest, with real-sounding drums and some ringing techno chords, while Alien Pimp’s ‘Robots & Cellos’ has a gnarlier, junglist-sounding bassline and cellos playing a distinctly Eastern European-sounding melody line. It’s crunchy, high-tech stuff, and a reminder that Romania isn’t all headscarves and horse-carts." (Joe Muggs)
EMALKAY - Morphic Sounds/Boka Records:
" 'Robots and Cellos' is a right banger. It's one of those tracks that you could listen to all the way through, yet you know it'll go down well at any dubstep rave. Yea mon, can't get enough of those cellos. Devastating!
'Oil Man' is twisted, but in a good way. The sub on it is monsterous, I'm liking the whole dubby appeal to this, especially when you've got crazy sfx poppin out all over the place. It's like dub with tourettes. :D
But yea, overall I'm feelin em both but I have to say Robots and Cellos is the one for me."
TYRANT – Kursed, Airtight, Influential, Knite Force/Breed, Def Wish:
“Absolutely love the first DubKraft release!”
CONSPIRA – Radio Zero, Portugal:
“It's a really good release for this new label.
Amazing production, Romania is revealing its treasures!”
DJ 2000F (aka Obeah) - Kraken Recordings/OHOI!/Pressing Issue Recordings:
"Ka: "Oil Man" - A truly heavy and atmospheric tune - I like it deep, dark and evil, and "Oil Man" is definitely lives up to these criterias.
Alien Pimp: "Robots and cellos" - Been a fan of the Alien Pimp for quite some time now. Robots and Cellos is worth the wait - mental bass and strings + staggering synth lines with reminisce of old hardcore rave sounds.
Big release, and congrats to the dark sounds of Eastern Europe!"
Also thanks for the massive support we got from the likes of: HINDZY D, FORENSICS, 8BIT….

ROBOTS & CELLOS REMIX CONTEST WINNERS!

Ladies and Gents!

We took too much time for it, but it was not for too little…
Lots of cool submissions, lots of guilt for choosing just a few winners, but here they are, in no particular order:

Passenja – for a revigorating twist that makes Darth Vader look like a nice fellow to share a pint with
Don Goliath – for making a dancefloor bouncer fed out of his raga production experience, nothing like the original, but still keeping the original vibe, if you catch my drift
Jah Billa – hells basement is nothing as deep as his remix (the Drums & Dub version, as you called it)

Also a special note to Buckfaster: your work will be considered for a different release option, it’s a cool one, just it didn’t fit in this release as good as the others!

Not to forget JASC, our fellow Romanian who delivered a minimal techno remix already rockin the disco, soon to be released on the forthcoming sister label for straight beats – Shut Down Audio.

So sometime October we’ll have a dope EP with these 3 fine remixes and a surprise guest remix soon to be announced.

Thanks a lot all participants, you make work on this project more fun than expected!
