About Me

For some, living the rock n roll dream meansfame, fortune and all the excess that comes withit. The Marble Index are living a differentdream. It involves the proverbial blood, sweatand tears. It involves perseverance and effort. It involves working like sons of bitches andmaking the most of opportunity.
If this dream doesn’t sound as sexy, you’ve readtoo many magazines. This is good, old-fashionedrock n roll spirit, with nothing airbrushed,steroid-pumped or collagen-enhanced but sexyindeed.
The group’s first EP and early live shows showedenough of that potential heat to captureattention. For such a young band to get signedthese days may seem like the ultimate prize, butto them, the deal was merely an opportunity; anopportunity that came dressed in overalls andlooking like work. So they headed to Wigan, inthe United Kingdom, and rolled up their sleevesto record their debut.
The success of The Marble Index’s self-titledrelease was not just the result of a strongrecord it was the also result of hard work andthe way music fans responded across the country. From the release date onward, the band touredacross Canada with the legendary Pixies, andelsewhere around the world on their own. Aftertouring the globe over the past two years, The Marble Index have come of age. You canhear it in their songs, in their performances, and in the spirit of the latest album.
The Marble Index may not be on the lookout forbrown M&Ms, but they have a new version of therock’n’roll dream. “This year will be the yearwe keep going with our quest for internationaldominance,” laughs Germain. “Our quest to try tospread our seed to as many countries aspossible.”
