About Me

The Filthy souls
Dave Green has been around - and it shows. At only 22, this singer/songwriter from the North-West of England has not only a creative maturity well beyond his years, but strength of voice that transcends both era and classification.
At ages 14, Dave, Anthony and Marc cut a CD under the name ‘The People’ and subsequently signed on with Canadian music manager Daniel Brookes. By 17, Dave was invited to sign with another of 'Brookes' bands - 'Roller', in which he undertook two tours of the United States and Canada opening for 54-40 and Danny Michel. In this time, both Anthony and Marc went their separate directions to focus on their own styles of music and to further progress their talent.
In 2004 Dave undertook 6 months of writing and recording in Canada with such industry notables as Rich Beddoe (Finger Eleven), Vincent Sciara and Ken Corke (Skye Sweetnam). Since having successfully opened support shows with the likes of 'The Damned', 'We Start Fires', 'The Futureheads' and 'Ali Love', Dave has been in the studio with producer John Kettle (Marble Index, Moco), where he focused on developing a new sound and worked on and completed his full-length C.D.
In October, 2007, Dave invited back the talents of Hogan and Lavin, and successfully auditioned Barry Robinson as bassist to complete the line-up of
The Filthy Souls.
In Vancouver Dave recently shot two videos for the singles 'Shootin Stars' and 'The Boys Will Be Out for a Fight'. The Filthy Souls music has already been heard at numerous festivals, including recent success of 'In The City', as well as on the Fox Television series 'Vanished' and Manchester’s 'Channel M'.
The band are planning a trip to Los Angeles in July 2008 to introduce their music to the US market. However, the trips main focal aim is to create interest from US record labels. www.myspace.com/thefilthysoulsmusic Thanks for visiting our MySpace page. We hope you enjoy the music and if you liked the stuff on here and want to hear more, come out to one of the shows as that's where we really go for it. The Filthy Souls
REVIEWS
We are Manchester online -
"THE FILTHY SOULS sound is quite eclectic, but lead singer DAVES voice threads through all the tracks well. THEY haVE an old rock sound for such a young BAND, and with an impressive musical past, beginning at age 14, THEY haVE done well to create a great following and a lovely strong sound. I love 'Sweet Southern Belle’; it's a sweet, southern old-style song with a Manchester twist, and gravely vocals. Definitely a name to watch out for and gaining interest from people like Chris Moyles, catch THEM now!”

“THE FILTHY SOULS Never afraid of a catchy tune, they hide from no man as they blast out there tunesmithery, with echoes of Ryan Adams country feel. the front man dave green carries a strong voice and bridges a transatlantic sound that blurs the line between professionalism and just plain having fun singing and playing music. One to watch.”

"If anyone can remember the unsigned teen sensations The People from about five years ago, they would most probably be wondering what happened to the undoubtedly talented members of the troupe that never quite made it. Step up Dave Green and his strangely obviously named The Filthy Souls. With a collection of songs that sound like a bruised but effective mixture of the Arctics and The Strokes on “The Boys Will Be Out For Fight”, they take on Snow Patrol elsewhere and win (“I Can’t Take You Back)” and even give Sterophonics a bit of bloody lip on the closing track. You’d be forgiven for thinking that The Filthy Souls were a slice of the obvious - Far from it – The band take their songs to far more adventurous corners, indie rock places where others would rarely dare to tread. It’s here, in this moment, that Green digs out wondrous, blistering, off kilter guitar breaks and solid chorus lines, where teeth are gritted and energy almost explode. Maybe a shorter sample of songs and doing something about the name would make this band more identifiable, but the music seems absolutely compelling.MMMM"

Dave Green (myspace.com/thefilthysoulsmusic) has seen a lot in his time as a musician. In fact it's hard to believe that the local lad with a Julian Casablancasesque growl, Kings Of Leon riffs and Buf...
