About Me
Newcastle born Craig White (vocals) and Dave Boardman (guitar), met in College in Manchester. Craig took up the lead vocal position in Daves band, where the sparks of a strong musical bond developed; joining the line-up is Bassist Alex Berry and Drummer Lee Simm. The band set out onto the live scene where they toured the UK extensively. Gigging is the ideal platform to showcase the prolific songwriting talents of Boardman and White, who had already amassed a comprehensive number of quality tracks. Their own brand of guitar-led rock encompassing melodic harmonies and the powerful vocal range from White caused not only a strong following of their own, but interest from radio and press.
With all the elements in place, Roller began to commit their new sound to tape in the studio, and committed to be based in The Manchester area of England. Where BBC Radio 1 daytime DJ Mark Radcliffe got hold of one of their demos and passed it to Key Recordings label boss Dan Brooks, who jumped at the opportunity to work with the four pieces.Roller has shared the bill with 30 Seconds To Mars, Bob Geldof, Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets), Joy Drop, 54-40 and Atomic Kitten as well as joining Spice Girl Mel C for her sold out world tour. In September 2001 they released their debut album, On Top Of This World, and gigged across Canada three times achieving a peak college radio play position of ..7.They closed out 2001 by winning the BBC Online Band Of The Year Award. The latest effort takes you to new places musically. The album entitled Impossibly Real will no doubt bring a flock of new fans, and bond them even closer with long established ones. John Kettle, who had just finished the new album from NME upstarts MOKO, produces the album.Impossibly Real is released by Key Recordings/Absolute/Universal Distribution in the UK and Linus/Warner in North America and was in stores on March 25th, 2003.
They will be coming back to Canada to tour with 54-40 during end of October/early November.

-this album is a masterpeice, and worthy of any real collectors, collection. Youll want to get it now, so youll be able to say I liked them when...The song writing is earnest, and the playing very compitent. Could use a few more rockers I agree, but its one album I cant stop listening to, not a bad song in the bunch.

New Jersey influenced and rootsy rock comes out of this English band from Manchester,"Impossibly real" is their 2nd album and the follow up to the debut "On top of this world" in 2001.
Roller has toured with Mel C from Spice Girls on her World tour, they sound like a sophisticated version of Bon Jovi and a rougher style of Train.
Singer Craig White has some similarities in his voice to Jon Bon Jovi but not much, the thing that hits me is that they doesn't sound at all like an english band.
It's a big American flag all over the music and if they had the right promotion in the states,Roller could be just as big as Train.
This is a very well done recorded album and feels good through the whole CD but it never reach any peaks, there are no highlights.....but there are no lousy songs either.
There is one ballad that I'm quite fond of and it's "A thousand stars",a lullabye tune if you get the idea. Rollers they are but no rockers....
