About Me

David Stoddard
T h e U n m o t i v a t e d M o t i v a t i o n a l W r i t e r

I am a writer ! I admit that not so much to speak the obvious, but to convince myself of that same fact. For too long, I thought that when I typed out words, put them in some order which made sense, it was not a huge deal to me. It was just what I did.Over time, I have learned that it is a big deal, it makes a difference and it is worth the effort. Today, I'm taking it more seriously by not taking it so seriously. In the days, weeks and months to come, you'll begin to see what I mean by that. It's been said that life is too important to be taken seriously. Well, we'll take that a step or 3 further with what is to come. What's In It For You?
A different way of looking at things.
A view of funnier moments in our hectic lives.
A chance to see yourself in the specialty of commonness.
Proof that the little things we all do matter greatly.
A better you is well within reach (closer than you think).
Check out these fine sites of stuff.

My Interests

follow djstoddard at http://twitter.com One question I get from time to time is just what is this Unmotivated Motivational Writer thing? Well, let me see if I can break it down for ya.Basically, it started in some chat room. The saying just sorta popped into my head, then out to my fingers and they magically appeared on the screen. In short, it's something like this...Umotivated
I have these constant feelings that I should be doing so many different things. I have thoughts of countless things to become involved with. I think about them and think about them until eventually the urge to do one of them comes along. So I do become motivated, but not nearly as one would imagine.Motivational
It's been years since I first became interested in the motivational, self-improvement area. The first book was by Dr. Robert Anthony "Doing What You Love, Loving What You Do." But since then, I have never really figured out if it was meant to be something for me to become motivated, or if it was something for me to help others with. So I sorta split the difference.Writer
It's what I do to share what I have learned or experienced. It's not that I "Know" the answers, but I share my own way of looking at things by writing about it.

I'd like to meet:

Writers, presenters, trainers, professional speakers, humorists, funny people and anyone interested in becoming better tomorrow than they are today.

Books:

What's Been Written Three short ebooks: "In Search Of Ourselves," "The Time For Me Is Now," and "A Time For Us." I've been published in various online outlets as well as in print. My words have appeared in the Alton Telegraph, the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Presentations Magazine and others. What Is Ahead Getting Back To BasicsToday, thanks to roaming around on MySpace and finding various friends, I have begun the never-ending process of getting back to what I started with so long ago - writing for the sake of writing. What exactly that means, I don't quite know. I imagine it will involve not taking things so seriously, adding more bits of humor to what is written and talked about. And making sure I don't lose myself in the process.

Just Twittering Around

Sometimes one has too much time on their hands. I guess that's what makes connecting with folks through things like MySpace so simple. I have met (meaning read words on a screen), from a lot of differ...
