I am here for Networking

About Me

www.marybrotherton.com for all the details.I enjoy the company of other writers, because most are well-read and interesting to talk with. Some are actually intelligent, to boot! That is why I facilitate a writer's editorial focus and peer review as well as belong to several critique groups.

My Interests

My interests are evolving, and ever-changing. I have been interested in writing for ages, and finally have a spouse who supports me as a writer. Naturally, I'm interested in the things that keep him happy, so he can keep me happy.

I love to dance, read, write, and eat chocolate. But I won't eat just any chocolate, it must be quality chocolate, or it's simply not worth the calories.

I'd like to meet:

Until I met Della Reese face to face, I didn't think I could be speechless or impressed by someone's celebrity status. I've gone to Sci-Fi conventions, and even hob-knobbed with a few of the celebrities between events. Sometimes, a few of the stars have asked me, my husband, or friends to join them for dinner or drinks after hours - we just clicked like old friends - but meeting Della Reese was an inspiring event. I'd like to meet more people like her. Thanks to Senior Life of Florida, I met Miss Reese, a former Mighty Carson Art Player, and a world renown chocolatier. Ihave done a freefall from 15,000 feet, gone to some outrageous and educational events, and have built a reputation in the area as a capable features writer.

Music:

Techo
Trance
Reggae
Some Hip Hop
Most House
Most 80's
Some Blues
Most Blue-eyed Soul (Simply Red, Rightous Brothers, Hall & Oates)
Certain bits of Jazz and Blues
Not quite all Classical

Movies:

I have a few favorite movies, but most people either have never heard of them, or simply don't like the same ones. Among my favorites are: The Truth About Cats and Dogs, Pretty Woman, and Lady Hawk. I also like Swordfish, Face Off, and Broken Arrow (interesting that John Travolta starred in each of those).

Television:

I don't watch much television. The only MUST SEE show for me, is Battlestar Galactica on the Sci-Fi Channel every Sunday night. It's a drama set in space, and very edgy.

Books:

I am co-authoring a book with Saunnie Lee that I hope will be one you can't put down. Saunnie is the idea woman and I am the technician. Together, we make a good team.I've also got a few children's books under consideration at various publishers, and love to read. I can read as many as 7 books at once, though it's much easier with only one in my hands. I love listening to audio books when I drive, even short distances, or while I am at my computer not doing anything special - that way I can read AND drive or write.
