Hey, thanks for checking out my page. I'm Tom Hanks, most of you know me as the actor from lots of different movies. I was born in Concord, California on July 9, 1956. My parents are Amos and Janet Hanks. I also have 3 other siblings. An interesting fact about my brother Jim was a double for me in "Forrest Gump", he was the main person during the running scenes. During my junior high and high school days, I was interested in space and sports, but most interested in baseball. While in high school I was in the Thespian Club, where I won highest acting award for Skyline, Best Actor for playing of Luther Billis in "South Pacific." After high school I attended Cabot College in Hayward, Ca from 1974 to 1976. I was still very interested in acting . In 1979 I auditioned for the Riverside Shakespeare Theater for the play, "The Mandrake", which I won the lead role of Callimaco! My first film role was in "He knows you're alone." When ABC sponsored a Talent Development Program, I attended many auditions and won a $50,000 contract and a chance to audition for the pilot of "Bosom Buddies." I won the role and began the career in 1980. I earned my $1 million paycheck in "Every Time We Say Goodbye". I got my 1st blockbuster hit with "Big" and was nominated for Best Actor in the Oscars for this movie! I then came back in 1994 to win an Oscar for the movie "Philadelphia" with a back to back for Best Actor with "Forrest Gump".Krumtum, Carrie. "Tom Hanks' Biography."
