About Me

Born and raised in Alberta, Bonnie Baldwin has enjoyed singing since she first joined her High School Choir. Her earliest influences were her grandfather and great aunts who performed live on the radio in Canada. Later on, she discovered the music of Hank Williams Sr., Bob Wills, Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash.Bonnie's love of classic country music and country swing is evident in her recent recordings which will be part of an upcoming CD release. The tracks "You Can't Change Horses" and "Ace In The Hole" have been posted on her MySpace site as a tribute to the legendary Gary Buck since he initiated the production of the songs before he passed away. Gary was a huge influence for Bonnie as he was a pioneer and an industry builder as well as an exceptional artist.Gary Buck also founded the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame where Bonnie worked as a Special Projects Coordinator after it was moved to its permanent home at Calgary Stampede Park in 2001. Events she helped to coordinate include a live telecast on CBC for Anne Murray as well as organizing songwriting and singing competitions designed to promote new Canadian country artists. On the recording side, she has recut a Lorrie Morgan track "Standing Tall" and has sung backup for Gary Buck as well as George Hamilton IV. Besides working on her new CD project, Bonnie also performs live at music festivals and other venues. One thing that gives her a great deal of pleasure is being able to entertain at senior's homes and benefits, as well as donating her time to charitable causes such as the Mustard Seed Street Ministry.Audiences who love classic country music and country swing are in for a real treat when they hear Bonnie Baldwin sing!
