Die Geschichte der grünen Kartoffel begann im Jahr 2002 in der Weltstadt Köln am Rhein. Die Band gründete sich damals (noch in anderer Formation) und entwickelte sich in vielen Konzerten und noch mehr Proben.
Ab 2004 ging es dann mit einem ersten Radiokonzert für den Sender Funkhaus Europa auf der Humba-Party in Köln aufwärts. Daraus entstand z.B. auch die Teilnahme am Edelweißpiraten-Projekt mit dem Lied „Hier und Dort“. Dann kam die erste CD „Oficialmente i Legal“ im Jahr 2005 und viele viele Konzerte und Tour-Wochenenden. Jetzt im Jahr 2008 haben wir unsere neue CD „Ich Verstehen Nicht Kann“ eingespielt, die ab dem 14.April in den Läden stehen wird.

Somos La Papa Verde.
Nuestra historia comienza aqui en Colonia en el año 2002 cuando la banda se formó. El año 2004 fue muy importante para nosotros, ya que, con el apoyo del Humba e.V. y de la radioemisora Funkhaus Europa, dimos un gran paso adelante. El mismo año, el Humba e.V. nos invitó, a participar en el proyecto de los Edelweißpiraten. Ellos lucharon contra el fascismo en alemania Nazi. Para este proyecto escribimos la canción "Hier und Dort", tomando un texto de una de las canciónes de los Edelweißpiraten. Al año siguiente, grabamos nuestro primer CD "Oficialmente i Legal". Desde entonces tocamos muchisimos conciertos y nos alegramos de nuestro nuevo CD, que salga en Junio 2008. Esperamos verles pronto en uno de nuestros conciertos!

We are La Papa Verde.
The history of our band began in 2002, when our band was founded here in Cologne by another formation of members. The year 2004 has been very important for us, as we have been supported by the Humba e.V. in Cologne and the radio station Funkhaus Europa. We made a big step forward, even though only in our local area. The same year, Humba e.V. invited us, to join a project with a group named the Edelweißpiraten, who had been a resistance group against the Nazi-Regime. We made the song "Hier und Dort", in which we used one of the song texts of the "Edelweißpiraten". The following year, we published our first CD "Oficialmente i Legal". Since then, we played many many concerts and are now presenting our new CD "Ich Verstehen Nicht Kann", which will be released around June 2008. We hope to see you soon at one of our concerts!
