RAD

Rad grew up singing in church, influenced by different types of music (from soul music to kompa, RnB, rap, to reggae, blues, to jazz...) he knew he had something to bring to the music world. As a teenager he won countless talent shows, in 1993 he won Garry T's big break contest/ in 1994 '95 he won another talentfest and opened for several US hip hop artists (Nas, Jeru the damaja,Black moon....), in '96 he won sounds of blackness best performance award and released his first video (no intermission) with his group TECHNICAL SENSE. In '98 went to europe and signed a deal with Mercury in Germany and in the same year managed to get a single deal with EMI in Germany. In 2000 the group signed to EMI Toronto and finally in 2001 they signed to CeSoul music and released another video (in da club) with Carl Henry.. The group was known as Canadian hip hop pionners and the greatest stage performers in Montreal. The 4 group members decided to go there seperate ways in 2002, that did not sway RAD's passion for music. In 2003 he reamerged but with a different focus, he was going to go it alone. With Muzion's support Rad decided to stop rapping (which he was doing with TECHNICAL SENSE) and pick up where he left off (as a child) singing. He collaborated with Imposs (of Muzion) on several mixtapes, joined the Zion family (moune morne), performed at musique plus (portes ouvertes '04) did the Quebec summer fest with Muzion and Wyclef Jean and kept touring all over the world with the group promoting mixtapes, albums and videos. In 2004, he made a guest apperance on Malik Shaheed's single Qui run Thingz, the video hit the highest rotation on musique plus and in 2006 he released a video he featured on with 13eme etage (coeur de montreal) which had a big success, hitting ....1 charts on commercial radios and Musique plus. Not only is RAD a gifted singer; he is a songwriter and a beat maker. The sky is the limit for this Moune morne frontliner!!! He is THE VOICE OF REAL CITY!
