VampusMoon (also known as 'Lecter') or Kev. I was born with the surname of the luna planet & currently live in London. Have played music (keyboards) from the age of 11, when I started secondary school. Learnt the basics of a piano, and reading music, and took a keen interest to play the keyboard. I first started listening to heavy metal at about the age of 10, when I got an Iron Maiden album and thought it was the best thing since sliced bread! They still remain one of my favourite bands to date along with Gothic Metal band 'Nightwish'. Since then, my interest in metal music grew progressively heavier, into the style of thrash metal, and finally into death & black metal! Grew my hair to a great length, changing its colours from blonde, to red, to dark. I finally cut my hair short :-( for which I earnt the name of 'Lecter' by colleagues & friends. I then finally changed my stage name to "Vampus Moon" to coincide with my real surname & vampiric style. I also have an interest in piercings & tattoos and currently have 4 piercings and 4 tattoos. Wearing black is part of my life!< . Got together with some other Metalhead Schoolmates to form a Metal Band, and although very early stages in development, our first time to play live on stage was at our School Soiree. That was great fun, seeing as most of the others students just came on to give us all an octave or two on their tenor horn or recorder, then we came on stage and blew everyones eardrums, ha! Later in school life, went on to form a Black Metal band called 'Defile Of Legion'. Other bands included 'Hecate', 'Mausoleum' & 'Damnation'. Had several local gigs, although it was mainly small venues (pubs/bars etc). Several other Metal Bands took place by friends of mine, such as a band called 'State Of Decay' which I also assisted with, mainly the technical setup! I currently own 3 keyboards, those which include Korg & Yamaha, Peavy microphones, Marshall amps & other technical shit! < Left school, and studied engineering & design, formed another band with four others. Still writing our own music & lyrics, we then formed a Black Metal band called 'Defiled Covenant' we followed in the style of norwegian/british black metal (wearing facial art), which I became the vocalist, and also producing 'intro' keyboard tracks. During this period I attended technical college for a further 5 years, to qualify with 3 A levels, 12 City & guilds in Technical design & Engineering, an EITB certification in design/engineering, and an NVQ level 3. Further qualifications included an EITB in Electronics, an ONC, HNC, HND in graphic design & Technical Engineering. Continue to play music (keyboards) to this day, and have a dedication to Black Metal band 'Cradle Of Filth' since when I first met them back in 1990. < <My late Grandfather used to work for Hammer Horror at Bray & Elstree Studios, and as a child, it was somewhat amazing to watch 'Dracula movies' with my mates knowing my Grandfather had some input to the making of the movie - and then all of us crapping ourselves when the caped tooth fairy rose from the dead! This no doubt has accounted for my strong interest in horror movies & for my music style. <<My other job in life involves flying. I also work with an Airline, flying worldwide, which as you can imagine is great fun but also very tiring especially crossing time zones and trying to combine my writing/producing of music. I have certainly visited some fantastic places and met some great people. <<Got married to my beautiful Wife Michelle (Huntress-Moon) in August 2006. It was a fantastic day, and a very memorable evening thanks to my cousin, who works with German metal band 'Rammestein'. He produced a fantastic pyrotechnic show & fireworks for us that evening.
