I'd like to meet:
My friends wherever I go
Music:
Since finally making the drunken idea of being in a band (Nemhain) with my best friends a reality this year, my eardrums are usually ringing with our own noisemaking. Other than that, I've been mostly listening to Rasputina of late (excellent deranged cello noise!) and the epic metal noise of the Blonde musings
Pantera (no drinking session is complete without Cemetary Gates), Danzig, Dimmu Borgir, Strapping Young Lad, Skid Row, Distillers, Metallica (Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets), Type O Negative, Motley Crue, Paradise Lost and Alice in Chains are all on frequent rotation.
Others that don't get switched off include (in alpabetical order, because I'm looking at iTunes, not because the OCD has kicked in!): A Perfect Circle, Alice Cooper, Anathema, Arch Enemy, Carnivore, Caveman, Dream Evil, Entombed, Emperor, Faith no More, Fantomas, Fear Factory, Finntroll, Guns n Roses, The Haunted, Iron Maiden, Korn, Kyuss, Leave's Eyes, Led Zeppelin, Machine Head, Manowar, Megadeth, Meshuggah, Monster Magnet, Morbid Angel, Nine Inch Nails, PJ Harvey, Poison, Rob Zombie, Satyricon, Saxon, Sepultura, Sonata Artica, and Tori Amos.
Movies:
Betty Blue, Les Amants du Pont Neuf (love Beatrice Dalle), Ginger Snaps, Amelie, most Tarantino Stuff, Leon, This is Spinal Tap, Nightmare on Elm Street, Elf, Don't Look Now, Beavis and Butthead, The Lost Boys, Gummo, Wayne's World, Hellraiser, Breakfast at Tiffanys, Legend (Tim Curry with giant red horns!), Labyrinth, Shaun of the Dead, Trainspotting, The Godfather, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Silence of the Lambs, Animal House, Poltergeist, Misery, In the Company of Wolves, Bride of Frankenstein, The Goonies, Devil's Advocate, Welcome to the Dollhouse, Batman Begins, Sin City, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Donnie Darko.
Television:
I'm constantly disappointed by the lack of anything interesting to watch on the hundreds of channels available. As a result, if I don't turn it off, I find myself drawn to Trinny and Susannah, and progammes about 1) surgery; 2) biographies, and 3) archaeology (i.e. Time Team).
Rant over, I have got into Lost recently, although have only watched a couple of episodes on TV. The rest were watched in a back-to-back marathon one weekend. I want to see the big killing thing in the jungle!
Books:
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, anything by Poppy Z Brite, and a library too vast to list.
