About Me

Join in and send Nelson Mandela a personal birthday message! We are attempting to set a new world record for the most signed e-Birthday Card. It's free and it's easy, and if your message is good enough you could win a new MacAir Notebook. Send to your friends and family, but join in!!Just click on the banner and head for the birthday card at http://www.mandela90.com Every 19 minutes someone is killed or maimed by a land mine in regions like this, usually women and children. There are more than 110 million active mines scattered around the world But what most people don't know is 85% of the land that the mines are on is fertile and could be used for growing food or medicine! When The Sole of Africa Campaign removes these mines, the world will change. Killing fields will become kitchens and jobs will be created. This is the project. This is why we have all joined the team. This is why hundreds of other humanitarians and business mavericks are coming on board to support this campaign. This is why charity organizations that have never worked together before have joined forces for this mission.Imagine dry mine fields turning into fertile, crop-producing farms. Imagine people from some of the poorest nations in Africa no longer needing aid, instead becoming givers of aid and contributors to the world economy. Imagine your name going down in the history books as part of the team that put their foot down to solve this problem today. www.thesoleofafrica.org or www.thesoleofafricablog.org

My Interests

The world's most prominent humanitarians, business leaders, and charity organizations are joining together specifically for this cause!Brad Pitt “I am honored to have the opportunity to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with my esteemed patrons in their quest to rid the world of landmines and welcome the challenge." Nelson Mandela “As patrons of The Mineseeker Foundation my wife Graca Machel and I take this opportunity to call upon world business leaders and statesman to support a new technology that can hasten our quest to rid the world of landmines. I call upon you to stand hand in hand with us as we move forward to remove landmines from our planet, once and for all. I thank you” Sir Richard Branson “Something needs to be done to bring mine action back into the media spotlight. The Mineseeker Foundation and its patrons, I am sure, could make a huge difference, both raising the profile of de-mining efforts around the world, and in helping global communities to social and economic stability." John Paul DeJoria ”I welcome the opportunity to be instrumental in removing millions of landmines and saving thousands of lives. I not only endorse Mineseeker but am physically involved....We invite all people to lend a helping hand as we should all participate in making the world a safer place to live for others... as part of our rent for being alive.” Queen Noor of Jordan “I am very hopeful that this new technology will enable us to accelerate the pace of secure de-mining and so the saving of lives and restoration of precious lands and livelihoods to needy communities around the world.” Graca Machel 'As a Patron of the Mineseeker Foundation and on behalf of my country, I would firstly like to express my gratitude to our fellow Patrons and all of those who are associated with Mineseeker for taking the initiative in selecting Mozambique as the first country to participate in the launch of this unique landmine technology and the "Sole of Africa Campaign.'Mozambique, like so many countries across the world, still lays victim to the plague of landmines that not only cripples our economy, but literally its people as well. It is for this reason that we welcome and endorse the opportunity to be involved in a project that has the ability to greatly accelerate landmine removal, and just as importantly, also return vast sectors of our land back to agriculture. We further commend the induction of the 'Soul of Africa Campaign' in our country and perceive this concept to be a bold step forward that not only focuses on the removal of landmines but initiates and addresses the further development of agricultural, economic and self-sustainable growth in Mozambique. In recognition of the thousands of people across the world that have lost lives and limbs to landmines, my husband and I are honored to be associated with the 'Sole of Africa' and invite you to 'Put Your Foot Down' with us as we take this essential step toward the complete removal of landmines across the world. For many African people, returning the land for crop production means returning their dignity. Please ’Put Your Foot Down’ with us.' -Graca Machel – November 2005
