Sherelle Cary Smith first made a musical impact during high school as a studio vocalist and a selected singer for an elite touring group, Lite Year 2000. Touring with Lite Year 2000, she polished her skills and was able to develop a style all her own. Embracing her desire to entertain, she went on to sing backup in various venues. Growing up in a military family, she found herself surrounded by a rich combination of cultural and spiritual influences. While she sang gospel at home, she trained diligently as a classical voice. The result is a deep, resonating mixture of blues and soul. Although Smith left professional music for a while, her desire to use her voice as an expressive instrument never ceased. Making her comeback in 2003 via the local Maryland club scene, Smith wowed the audience. Feeling a fresh energy, Smith went on to become an accomplished songwriter. As a vocalist, Smith has been honored three times to sing the National Anthem for the Washington Wizrds and the Washington Mystics. Currently, she is devoting her energy into her released debut solo album, Do What You Love. Featuring a mixture of her works and few favorites, Smith leaves the audience begging for more.In her emotionally moving rendition of Eleanor Rigby, Smith highlights her ability to bring the audience into the song and experience it as she feels. Much like a painter on canvas, Smith paints a true picture of a tale from beginning to end. The eclectic blend of her own written work leaves you wondering what the future beholds for this gifted artist. Just as the self-authored title track (Do What You Love) implies, Smith firmly believes in living each moment of life to the very fullest. Whether she is laying down the R&B vocals with ease on Walk on By or delicately lacing You Are My Heart with a lasting embrace, listeners will be convinced that you can Do What You Love and never look back. Her much anticipated next album release will be a full collection of original material entitled, "I'm Still Here". It will show an earthiness and a soulfulness that will surpass her vocals in "Do What You Love". She has already tried some of this new material on her audience and left them anxiously awaiting this release. For more information on this artist, please visit www.sherellecarysmith.com.
