Thirteen year old Ashleigh has been performing on stage since the are of 5. She is the second oldest of seven children in a very musical family. Ashleigh writes songs from her heart. She plays guitar and piano and loves to write her experiences in her journal....which then become the material for her lyrics. She knows that when you can identify with a song's lyrics, it sounds that much more beautiful when you perform it. She loves to combine her singing with her theatrical experience and to really get lost in the music. Her very soulful sound touches the heart of all who see her perform. Ashleigh has performed live at many Chicago area venues, including The Flame, in Countryside, Illinois, Rocco's Little Italy in Orland Park, Illinois, and Seamus McGhee's in Lemont, Illinois.Ashleigh was invited to join the Performance Project at Piven Theater in Evanston, Illinois, where she is currently in her fourth year studying theater/ improv. She has been involved in many Chicago area theatrical productions over the past 8 years, most recently playing the role of Grace Farrell in Spotlight Theater's production of Annie, and the role of Veruca Salt in The Drama Group's production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Ashleigh was also seen in the film Timeserver in 2004.Although Ashleigh is no stranger to the theatrical stage, her passion is touching people with her voice. Ashleigh also plays guitar and is currently writing material for her new demo. In 2006, she had the opportunity to meet another local artist, Michael McDerrmott, at her father's class reunion. Michael gave her some good advice, set her on the path, and inspired her to write lyrics from her heart. Her music is how she best expresses herself. She believes that she has been given this gift to reach out to others and to touch them emotionally. She is very grateful to her many family members who have encouraged and supported her for all of these years. She believes it's all about giving back to the world that which she has been given!
