About Me

Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Divide

My name is Mike Meadowcroft and I've been playing guitar for more than twenty years. Currently, I'm playing with a fantastic band, Deaf Tom Crow, but I'm taking the time to write and record a few for myself. Feel free to download my music. In the spirit of the Grateful Dead, music is a thing to be shared!

I am primarily a guitar player. I love both acoustic and electric guitars and I really dig slide on both, but I'll never claim to be good at it! I've been dabbling a bit in the banjo, but guitar is my thing.

Anyone who would like to jam or write a little together is more than welcome to contact me at [email protected]! Till the, keep on pickin'!

Band Members: You are going to hear a variety of players in my music. The two most consistent players are my twin brother and my wife.

My wife, Christina, sings "Bluestar Highway" better than I ever did. She has the voice of an angel!

My twin brother, Scott, can be heard slapping the skins as he sets the tone for the music. His hygene could be better, but he can play and he can cook, so 2 out of 3 isn't bad! His drumming is excellent, and I couldn't play without him!

My dear friend, Andy Colombe, aka "Colondo", plays various percussion tracks, Some guitar and bass. He just had a baby (well, his wife did) and we're very proud of him, or, I guesss, her!

Other members of the band include my reissued 1968 Fender Telecaster Thinline. My first electric guitar, a 1990 Squire Stratocaster and a charming Fender acoustic. These ladies ARE members of the group, as the each provide their uniqe personalities to the sound! I do have a 1964 Vox Tornado, but she needs a little work. You can hear it as the secondary guitar in "The Fryin' Pan"

Influences: Man, you name it! I’m a huge Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia fan. I love the Rolling Stones, The Black Crowes, Taj Mahal, John Lee Hooker. Old blues, jazz, bluegrass and juicy rock-n-roll really do it for me!

If you live in the Chicago area, check out a late night progam called "Blues Before Sunrise" on 90.9 FM. It starts around 11pm Saturday and pushes ’till dawn with the all knowing Steve Cushing at the helm.
