Jason Michael Carroll

In the summer of 2004, Franklinton, North Carolina native Jason Michael Carroll who had been singing country songs for crowds from the Carolina's and Virginia all the way down to Texas, auditioned for a locally-produced television show in Raleigh, NC called Gimme the Mike, after much convincing from his mother. "She actually went online, filled out the form with my name on it, sent it in, and called me and 'told' me where to be and when and to 'do it for your mother' ", Carroll laughs.
Not only did Jason win the competition, but he caught the eye of the manager who was with Hootie & The Blowfish on their rise to stardom a decade ago, and was introduced to famed Producer Don Gehman. After meeting with Don and playing some songs for him, Don agreed to be, what would later become known, as a major part in Jason's signing to Arista Records. Jason had been performing for several years and now had the opportunity to make the push to the next level in his career.By the summer of 2005, Jason was becoming a regular along Nashville’s famed Music Row.
By autumn, good things were happening in quick succession. He was performing with the likes of Montgomery Gentry, Dierks Bentley, Kenney Chesney, Gretchen Wilson and Robert Earl Keen on weekends, while collaborating weekdays with writers like Radney Foster, Jeffrey Steele, Terry McBride, Tommy Lee James, Jim Beavers, Monty Powell, Tom Shapiro and Kelly Lovelace.
With a slew of songs produced by Don(Pat Green, John Mellencamp, Hootie, REM, Tracy Chapman, etc.), Jason’s debut CD was released in February of 2006. His buzz steadily grew among country music fans and industry insiders alike. His debut album went 1 on Billboard's Contry Music Chart and debuted at 8 on Billboard's pop chart.
Jason's lead off single "Alyssa Lies" made it all the way to 5 on the charts and is still being supported by radio and fans alike. When Arista Records released his follow-up single, "Livin' Our Love Song" shortly after, it too earned Jason his second Top 5 single. In February 2008, Arista Records released Jason's 3rd single, "I Can Sleep When I'm Dead". This upbeat song showcases Carroll's broad vocal, and his songwriting. It is currently making an impressive climb on the charts. When asked about his new fame Jason responded with "Am I?" then smiled. In an interview following some early studio sessions, Gehman predicted, “Jason is going to fill a niche in country music that will include the old guard, the people who have always loved country music, but he will also present a view that is going to include the new audience...” it looks like Don was right.
