Born in Washington, D.C., he has toured and recorded with such artists as Anita Baker, Will Downing, Gerald Albright, Boney James, Brenda Russell, Natalie Cole, The Isley Brothers, Ledici, Maysa Leak, James Ingram, Deneice Williams, Sheena Easton, Teena Marie, Phillip Bailey, Jeffery Osborne, The Late George Howard, Rachelle Farrell, Terry Steele, Jonathan Butler, The Guitars and Saxes Smooth Jazz All-Stars (Gerald Albright, Jeff Lorber, Jeff Golub, Peter White) and many others. Smitty has also recorded on various TV shows such as Sister Sister, South Central, Matt Waters, Soul Food to name a few. His theatre/play work includes The Legend, Love In All The Wrong Faces, The last 3 Standing and the movie production “Ali”. Smitty launched his debut solo project in August 2005, a multi-stylistic CD, “This Is Me”.
