Cool_DJ Big Ones a.k.a. Michael E. Alexis is an aspiring DJ/Producer from the city of Boston. From his humble beginnings in life, he has been constantly exposed to music in one form, shape or fashion. Born to West Indian parents in 1973, Afro Caribbean rhythms immediately filled his young mind, along with the thriving sounds of; Jazz, R&B, Disco, Garage, Funk, Rock, and Hip-Hop. He was definitely born at a great crossroads for music, one that would unknowingly shape his life’s' path. Circa 1980, Michael began a lasting love for the diversity of The Arts. Starting with B-Boying and Popping, he soon found himself learning to paint Graffiti, and by his early twenties was an accomplished Dancer and Aerosol Artist During the late 80’s Michael noticed a trend towards more violent behaviors in music and distaste for those who chose to B-Boy. It was at this time House Music hit the airwaves and changed Michaels’ life forever. He began to seek out more House oriented functions where he could actually dance and not be a wallflower. At the Loft, he noticed that life in a House Club was all about the music itself and the positive forces within it. He soon built a collection of house music inclusive of all its contributing factors, and while attending training to become a Union Ironworker, Michael saw an opportunity to take his artistic skills to a new and unexplored level, DJaying! This brings us to the present, where Michael is known as Cool_DJBigones from Boston to Miami and several parts in between. His ultimate goal is to become nationally and internationally known for producing music and being one of the most outlandish Disc Jocks ever. Some of Cool_DJ Big Ones accomplishments include: â€Â¢ United Roots, a gathering of minds spirits, music and harmony. 10/98 – 02/99 â€Â¢ “Big Ones Cool_Runningsâ€?. His first mixed CD, released in the summer of 2000. â€Â¢ 09/00 Club Vertigo CD release party for“ Big Ones Cool_Runnings â€? â€Â¢ 01/09/02 Guest appearance Phoenix Landing Cambridge, MA. â€Â¢ Summer 2002 the release of Grainy Days Volumes 1 & 2. â€Â¢ 2001-2003 Alternating Resident at Mercury/Milky Way Lounge & Lanes in Jamaica Plain Boston. â€Â¢ Spring 2003 “The Party for Peaceâ€? featured Disc Jockey. â€Â¢ May 2003 – March 2004 a resident Disc Jockey at “Feelâ€? a weekly dance party at The Brookline Community Center for the Arts. â€Â¢ March 2005 performed at the Druid Pub Inman Sq.
