LIVE WEEKLY DJ MIXSHOW WITH LIVE KEYS ON HANDZONRADIO.FM - SATURDAYS 12 NOON-2P (EST)
A Musician, DJ, Producer and Engineer, categorize the four hats worn by Robin Elizabeth Moore, a native of Framingham, Massachusetts, U.S.A. Her multifacets are enhanced by her diverse educational background as she has received her electrical engineering degree from Brown University, (Providence, RI) and has studied extensively at the Berklee College of Music, (Boston, MA) focusing on music production, engineering and piano. Robins talents and technical expertise have been recognized in the DJ and electronic musical equipment industry. In 2002-2003 Robin conducted research for Numark Industries and Alesis Corporation to make product recommendations for DJ mixers for the future. As a professional audio recording and mix engineer of 13 years, Robin's engineering credits include major label remix projects for Epic Records (Groove Theory, Dis 'N Dat) and Motown (Whitehead Brothers, Mario Winans). She has been an audio/radio engineer for WGBH Radio, Boston for 9 years, recording anything from classical chamber music to folk and jazz performances to news (The World) and talk programming (Open Source w/Christopher Lydon). While she has skills in both creative and technical fields of music, creating and experiencing soulful house music has become her passion.
"I believe House Music is a home for me. No pun intended in the least! It has this unique ability to lift my spirits to a level that no other genre has taken me. It always pushes me to musically express myself at my peak creative level."
From the early age of eight years Robin has been playing the piano and was influenced by her father, Robert Moore, a jazz tenor and soprano saxophonist and composer. With her early start with music, combined with her fathers jazz influence, her love of funk, fusion, disco of the 70s and dancing, it seems natural for her to gravitate towards the soulful house genre. She started dj-ing in 1994 and now has international recognition with dj bookings overseas in Switzerland, (Pacha, Soul Cafe, Pravda, Angel Club). Additionally, a rewarding experience for Robin has been performing on the keys alongside DJs in clubs to share her spontaneous innate musical vibe, taking the club experience to a new level, a challenge that few have attempted.
After a 2 year hiatus Robin is getting back to producing house music now that her new studio JAMNATION is up and running. After keeping it under "lock and key" for some time, only sharing with a limited few, her single with Boston vocal talent Dee Lavender, "Gotta Reach", first got some attention at WMC 2004 w/spins from international DJ Tony Wilson. Additional support has been received from one of Baltimore's finest, Henry D'Man, and Boston DJ talent Kris Kono.
Her second production w/Dee Lavender is currently in production. Check back soon to hear a sample on this page!
