About Me

Welcome to “The Soul Nerve.” Before you continue through this site or visit my webpage at www.thesoulnerve.com please read the following information to better understand what it is that I’m trying to do:"Many people have asked me what exactly is The Soul Nerve? My response is this. It's a feeling, a sense, or a frame of mind. It's when a sound or music can take you to a place entirely yours, where you lose yourself in a song and the world dissolves into rhythm. The term originated in the club’s of New York by several very good friends of mine, and their dream is my vision. I believe in a venue where musicians and DJ’s can collaborate to create new and unique forms of dance music, away from the influences of commercial music labels and social pressures. My mission statement if you will, is to work hard to make sure that this place exists. What I want out of this is the satisfaction of doing something I love and surrounding myself with people who feel the same way. On a more personal note, I play what I enjoy listening to because I’m a house music connoisseur. I listen to somewhere between 6,000 and 10,000 new releases each month searching for one or two killer tracks to add to the collection, and that’s what I use when I spin or record. I don't do requests, and I won't promote music that I don't believe in 100%. The music is the drug. I refuse to believe that mainstream is the only way to make it, and I feel sorry for anyone that does. I guess you could call me eccentric, but I'd rather do it my way then have to listen everyone else's bullshit."Robert P. Gibb - Owner/Operator - www.thesoulnerve.com
