Richard Wright

Richard William Wright also know as"Rick" born on July 28,1943 in Hatch end london. He died on September 15, 2008 of cancer in his home in Britain. Rick is better know as the keyboardist in Pink Floyd. He self-taught himself when he was a boy.Wright's child hood started by him attending Haberdashers Aske School were he met two of his fellow band members Roger Waters and Nick Masson. He was one of the orginal founders of "The Pink Floyd". He contributed greatly to Pink floyd by his key boards and as well as his ideas. Rick played a number of instruments including Keyboards, Organ, Piano, Synthesizer, Acoustic Guitar, Trombone, Vocals, Guitar, Fiddle, Harpsicord, Saxophone, Cello.Although Wright did not do much Songwriting, he was a great influence. However, He was fired by Roger Waters during the album"The Wall" because so to speak he" Did not contribute anough". However it is later revealed by Nick Mason that part of the reason he was fired was Columbia Records had offered Waters a substantial bonus to finish the album in time for a 1979 release. Rick did not rejoin the band again offically untill 1988. Rick's work really shines in albums such as The Dark Side Of The Moon, Animals, Meddle, The Division Bell and many more. He also Has been associated in other peoples solo albums such as Syd Barret and David Gilmour's "On an Island".He has also produced solo albums such as "Broken China" and "Wet Dream". Currently he has a daughter after his two divorces whose husband played bass for Pink floyd after Roger left. a href=""
